Regardless of how much government ( around the world) talks about free speech and free choice, what they really like to see is 'compliance'

Some people will be more 'compliant' and easily led than others. I'm sure all government is compiling data on how compliant people are. This will prove very useful for any future war/pandemic..etc..etc.

The more fearful people are the more compliant they will be.

Yes and there are a lot of fearful people about. 

We all see them wearing a mask outside with nobody about. 

Or wearing a mask whilst driving a car.... alone! 

I saw a woman wearing a mask under a clear plastic visor the other day.

I imagine this person was fearful in her everyday life before covid, and that the 'lurgy' has just added to it.

I think I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but the funniest one I've seen, was when I was working on a roof a while a ago and saw a woman come out of her house into the back garden 3 doors down, to put her washing out and she was wearing a mask! 

I was the only one around!    Although conceivably there might have been an infected person lurking in the back alley poised to breath over her garden wall?

Swmbo has barely left the house in the last 18 months for this reason. Apart from when we both go for a walk across the fields where there are very few, if any, people around.

Entirely up to individual personal choice , I wouldn't criticise anyone for wearing or not wearing a mask,  however if anyone came near me coughing & spluttering they would get a severe reaction from me.

Digital currencies this time.  The article talks about how the digital currency could be programmed so you can only buy certain things, or limit bad things like meat for example. 

One thing it doesn't mention is that digital currencies could come with an expiry date forcing you to spend your money by a certain date, which could be varied if the economy needed a boost for example.

The thing with digital currencies is the potential to control all aspects of our lives, from how much you spend on booze, to how many holiday's you take, to how many miles you can drive your electric car each month.
