I had the very same idea a while back, but havent had the time or resources yet.

After a wee chat with lamb, he has already invited me up to his house to peruse his project for hints and tips.

Nice chap. :y

Good welcome to the oof! :y

I can see the reasoning fro your other modifications but why the engine swap?

My thoughts exactly! Especially as it looked like an Elite to start with and now your retro-fitting a Saab 4 pot???  :o

Am after a favour if you get the chance.  I was looking at the bit I could see for where the seats are bolted to the floor pan.  I was after some pics of the frame work of the seats as well if possible.

The reason I ask is that if possible I would like to try and modify my seat to go further back and even lower if possible.

TIA.   :y

Im guessing it;s a 2.0/2.3 turbo motor as these can be boosted up to give 350 bhp quite easily and bolt straight onto the miggy bellhousing!

...... and even lower if possible.

I believe that's a 'quirk' of the electric seats of the Elites, I always felt that the seats could do to go a bit lower, especially when I first bought it after owning a Senator for so long.  :-/

Mine goes quite low, if it goes any lower then I would be sitting on the road, Lol.
at its lowest point I can just see over the steering wheel, and I'm 5,10" so not that small.

Sit in a Senator with its seat at the lowest point, and you see (or not see  ;) ) the difference.  :y  :y  :y

Nice job! Hope you have the Aero spec engine from a 9000 or 9-5 there - fantastic lumps with SOOOOOOO much torque even before you start tuning.

Missing mine badly  ;)

Correct, and thats the main reason for not using an let. Good engine, but better off in a car that has less weight than the mig. 8-)

GREAT!       what more can be said, thats a top notch quality project!

i still havent put the 3 litre into the UTE as i am still toying with the idea of a 3.0 twin turbo supra, but so much work, you have a great idea tho,

nice and reasonably straight forward swap, just some mods to the mounts and also to the wiring i beleive, but put the hours in and you will suprise a few people at the rolling road!
