Omega General Help / Re: EGR adjustment?
« on: 16 August 2006, 23:21:54 »
will it not idle a bit ropey with the egr blanked off tho? on the wee fezzy i had if you tried to adjust it to the point of being closed off it would idle like cow dung or even stall. already planning a set of 3.0 cams but also wanting to know about the egr as it raises intake temperatures, and im quite the fan of lowering intake temp by as much as humanly possible for the most power possibly from a good home made intake... i mean to the point of even wrapping most of the tubing up to the pllenum in heat barrier. done all this before on the wee fezzer and by george did it make an improvement over the "norm" cone filter setup that takes in bags of hot air. i actually swear by it...

Omega General Help / EGR adjustment?
« on: 16 August 2006, 19:23:17 »
is the EGR on the 2.5 v6 adjustable? i believe mine is off or stuck. i have fettled with an EGR before on a zetec fezzy i had ages ago so i have a little bit of knowledge on the subject. one thing i do not know is, if it is indeed adjustable which way is to open and which is to close... my theore is the less hot gas recirculated the better as i am on a mission for cheap power at the moment before the more costly modifications and as they say "every little helps"

Omega General Help / Bleeding air from coolant system? HELP
« on: 03 September 2006, 18:07:22 »
ok im nearly done.. just gotta bolt up the plenum and attach the various connectors i had to remove and some other minor things. when i was doign the plug leads i had to remove a pipe. this happened to be a coolant pipe and the upshot is now i have an empty coolant tank.

after shes back together ill get some coolant but how do you go about bleeding all the air out? just loosten the filler car when its running or what?

Omega General Help / Re: will 19's fit with 35-45mm drop
« on: 30 August 2006, 18:09:30 »
i mean the wheels width 215 or 235. whatever that is in inches.. the wheels are made by team dynamics and they are multispoke but not very boy racer-ish. they will look well on the car.  ;)

its probably on airbags or hydraulics.

ive decided what wheels i want to go for. will be getting them in 19 inch. my only dilemma is do i go for 235 or 215 width? theres only about 50 quids difference in price. in the rimstock book the widest/largest option was 245x19. im thinking 235 but id go for 215 if they wont rub the inner arch when turning sharp. have also decided on 40mm spax springs.

and no the wheels arent either of the ones i posted originally lol if you ask really really really nicely i might tell the brand but thats it till theyre on the car and i get the camera working on the pc again. the only down side to the wheels ive chosen is that the manufacturer hasnt any in stock but they do have some blanks so ill be waiting 4-5 weeks while the wheels are machined, painted and sent out.

err woops.. ET35 and spacers if needed then lol

ok so if go for 19's with 235 width rubber (8-8.5 width rim i presume) i SHOULD be able to get them in ET30 and if needed then fit 2 or 5mm spacers as required and probably (hopefully) not have to do any work to the arches as ill only be looking to lower the car by 35-45mm.

loks like i may be going for the 19's afterall  :D

btw the ones on that omega are 21 or 22 inch.. silly big lol
