have no pics as my pc is fudged but the car is in fairly decent nick. needs a little work but it runs, is taxed and motd and all electric gadgets work.

i just noticed something quite interesting on the trader site. its 550 quid and im thinking if someone on here would check it out and if its as good as it looks in the ad, buy it for me then on a weekend (possibly this weekend?) id take a ferry over with the omega and swap so effectively someone could get a 2.5 V6 in decent nick for 550 notes and a bit of driving. that is if you vaux heads could stomach driving a 1.3 mk2 escort to a ferry port  ;D

General Discussion Area / Might sell my mega to one of u lucky folks
« on: 04 September 2006, 18:03:11 »
was thinking in work today.. i could get a ferry over to england with the omega on a friday night (possibly) and meet up with someone off here who wants to buy. then agree to knock off some money from my asking price to be shuttled about to check out a few cars id be keen on from the autotrader. would mean i wouldnt end up getting lost, id have some company and i wouldnt have to work out how to drive 2 cars with only 1 me  ;D

id have to be back by sunday tho for work the next day. and id need somewhere to crash for a day or 2... maybe some kind soul who would buy my mega on here? lol

any takers? id be looking 1k for the mega and would knock off 1-200 quid for dibs on someones sofa for a night or 2 and for being driven about in my old car to find a new one  :D

doubt it would work tho because id need to get the car sold for definate while id be over and pick up another motor all over a single weekend. plus id probably get lost just trying to meet up with whoever was interested in my mega  :-/

General Discussion Area / servicing the 2.5 today
« on: 03 September 2006, 15:08:25 »
finally getting round to doing the rocker cover gaskets, plug leads, plugs and gonna clean the plenum and tb's while theyre off. the plenum and inlet manifold gaskets are in A1 condition so i can re-use them. guess the last owner wasnt lying about her being serviced before she came out of england.

may be selling it tho. dont know yet. i have her advertised on some local forums but if she runs better and as quick as she should after im done today i may decide to keep her.

General Discussion Area / first bit of work on the green machine
« on: 20 August 2006, 16:27:44 »
just back in the house from tinkering on the omega. my first line of duty was to remove the os cat pipe and beat, shake and shake some more to break up the already somewhat broken and rattling innards of the cat... fast forward aobut 2 hours (that was fun) and i refit the cat pipe now with one hollow cat. turn her over and the rasp is unbelievable but hey atleast the rattle is gone.. so since im all dirty and sweaty i decide its a good time to straighten the panel gap between the bonnet and the recently fitted wing, easy enough. then i decide to do some more work to my one off intake im building, previously i had just removed the airbox and fitted a BMC type carbon fibre housed air filter and whacked on a short bit of flexible intake pipe i nabbed off a TD escort that just happens to be the perfect size... anyway that meant where the air actually enters the filter is in corner of the engine bay and slightly bent forwards, as far as possible from the engine and radiator.. literally a few inches from the back of the headlight on that side.. anyway i noticed an oval shaped hole in the chassis so i took the fabric type hose that i removed with the standard airbox and bent it to an oval shape and stuffed the top of it thru the hole, i stuck on another peice of the flexi escort intake pipe onto that and aimed it towards where the filter draws air in from then i took the bottom of the standard fabric pipe and bent it round to sit just behind the little grill next to the fog light, then i removed said grill and chopped 3 rows of the flat plastic off the back (leaving the grill fins) and put it back on. now i have a lovely air feed for my filter and its not even noticable by looking at the front of the car.

cant wait to give her a test flight when i go for petrol in aobut half an hour, the air feed should really help when the car is moving. pity i have no way of uploading pics as our main pc is being fixed and thats the only one with the software for our digital camera.

if you think a 320d is bad how about getting owned by your old E36 318i with slipping clutch and old type M40 8v lump.

in my defence the mega isnt running 100% tho  :(
