General Car Chat / diesel injectors
« on: 13 April 2014, 13:09:42 »
Hi all, I'm after a little advice, I've got a 2004 1.5dci megane with a few issues, I've done a leak test on the injectors and they are all knackered https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6ws7wkocbmodnr/20140412_151630.jpg
in the picture the black line on the cups is 35ml and in the renault service book it says any more than this after 2 minutes of idling and 4 full accelerations is a fail, I stopped my engine after only 35/40 seconds idle.

My question is do I get these injectors reconditioned or should I just go and buy re-con ones.

General Car Chat / Farewell

Hello to all at OOF, I am sad to declare I am leaving the land of Omega ownership, after only 13 months with my sport estate she had to go to another carer.
I have to say that this forum is probably the best and most helpful, useful and welcoming I've had the pleasure to be part of, DelSolUK is a nice community but still nothing on you guys.
In the short time I had my omega it needed an exhaust middle n rear and that's about it so good going there, but with the house income going down to one the best option was to move her on and get something sh*t/cheaper to run.

So one week on from selling her I'm visiting dealers saying (what you got for £600) and being presented with..... well I found 1.0 fiat UNO (nice), a 1.8 sierra sapphire (porus) a saxo vtr (smokey) and just about every kind of non runner out there, you just CAN'T beat the quality for price on these migs.

I do hope that one day I will buy another Omega and re-join the family but until then good bye.

Also if you have several bank cards and PayPal you can get quite a few months of free trials, my wife and I have 2 cards each plus a PayPal each and 3 email addresses each, we had 6 months of free trial.

I have it, the premium streaming service comes free with my vodafone 4G ready contract but I paid for it before that (£9.99 a month), my opinion is if you ingest A LOT of music it is worth the money especially if you take full advantage of the ability to download and store on your device (PC/apple/andriod) for offline listening, the free service is only available on PC.
At £120 a year for 3 years now I do wonder how many iTunes albums I could have bought.

Apps don't restore, if you had the phone save all apps to the PC/mac you can drag n drop to the phone otherwise it's App Store, purchased, then re install each desired app.

+1 on the G3 rubbing compound, when I sprayed my CRX with cellulose paint it brought it up like glass.
It takes some real effort tho if you don't have a LOW speed buffer, keep it wet and take it slow.

Lucky tinker, wish mine did that, especially as mines got sport written on the side and I seem to press the S button every time I drive it.

Congrats, was there any helium balloons fastened to your right foot lol, I only managed to squeeze out 27mpg from mine on a trip from Margate to ashford (Middlesex) and back, almost 200 miles and exactly half a tank.
I did have 4 passengers a semi full boot and started with a full tank so I might have been a little heavier.

Really really horrid seat and driving position, you could play hockey with the gear stick, I heard they had nearly 15 fault recalls on them but don't quote me on that.

I take it yours is diesel as 2.2 petrols don't have an EGR valve

Scrap that I had my brain in a jar of scrumpy, it's an ICV the f/l Desmond's don't have.
My bad.

I recently upgraded my Tmibile contract with a 4g phone but kept a 3g contract, a few weeks later EE phoned me to ask how I'm getting in with my new handset and would I consider upgrading to 4g for almost free, after I declined (no 4g in Thanet yet) the guy informed me that I might experiance some 3g brown outs as they are commissioning and testing new hardware. I'm now getting random signal loss on both iPhone 4S and Samsung gs4.
