General Discussion Area / Dent removal
« on: 04 March 2009, 21:23:09 »
This maybe in the wrong place to post but I am after some tips to remove a dent on the passenger side wing.

I have been thinking of investing in a dent puller but am not sure how good they are.

The dent is roughly 2 - 3 inches has anyone got any tips for removal.

I have been looking online and found a link to dent removal using dry ice not sure if its a good method but thought i'd post a link to the video for anyone interested.

General Discussion Area / MOT Pass
« on: 13 September 2008, 01:34:57 »
Had my car tested on Tuesday and it failed on an exhaust leak on middle and rear box (pin holes imo but still failure) new parts fitted and all is well.

Spent last weekend replacing the the handbrake shoes & cable then disks and pads alround.

Other than the exhaust everything else was spot on so I'm well happy :)

Been achey most of the week but its all been worth it

General Discussion Area / MOT ?
« on: 07 September 2007, 12:42:04 »
Can someone help I have been checking my records this morning and have discovered my MOT has expired today that'll teach me  :-[

Does anyone know if I have any grace on this or should I stop using the car, I know it will fail at the moment so not really worth putting it in for one due to my ABS issue.

Cheers in advance

General Discussion Area / Ebay ?

I saw this car it looks nice but would the buyer have to pay the postage cost of £900.00 or would it just be the bidding price to I feel sorry for who ever wins the bid if this is the case.

As in the title really I was looking at my passenger seat and it looks to have white ingrained spots, not alot but just enough to annoy being that the seats are Black.

I'm thinking it maybe emulsion paint and was wondering if it would hurt to try using white spirits on it or would a colour restorer do the job of sorting this.

Any Ideas would be much appreciated.

General Discussion Area / Spec Level
« on: 03 April 2007, 12:54:10 »
I have been reading this http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1162323406

Not sure what to make of mine, basic spec when i got the car was CD level.

My car is supposed to be a 97 P Reg Omega but the list below gives me the impression mine is just a rebadged GLS, I think the only thing I have is the New style plastic fuel hoses fitted although even that I shall be confirming ASAP.

Model Year 1997
Height adjustable steering column added
Side airbags introduced
New style plastic fuel hoses fitted
Steering wheel remote control function added

Im guessing the later batch in 97 got the extra goodies

Whats the thoughts I know this is just a guide but makes you think.

General Discussion Area / Ebay Advice Needed
« on: 27 February 2007, 14:29:23 »
Basically I have been watching an Item it has no reserve but in the listing has a buy it now price within the text but no buy it now button.

I contacted the seller during lunch only to be told if the bid doesn't reach the buy it now figure the item will not be released, surely he cannot do this as he has no reserve on it.

I asked the seller why he hadn't put a reserve on and I was told he didn't know how to.

Where do I stand, I would have put a bid on but what issues could come about.

If I one the bid it would be cash on collection.

Any responses would be much appreciated

General Discussion Area / Leaving the site (Not Totally)
« on: 28 February 2007, 10:14:01 »
Well today is the last day of me having constant access to the site via work.

Well I say that the new job may have its benefits.

Not having access at home will prove a pain so will eventually be getting online at home.

I would like to thank all for any help given to me over the time I have been on here.

I will be online today but after 6 I will be logging on as and when I can.

So to all Good Luck with your Omega's :y

General Discussion Area / Yesterdays fun and Rear axle/dif query
« on: 09 February 2007, 11:07:35 »
Well as in the title it took me quarter of an hour to get my car out of my works carpark. Watched the cctv footage this morning well  :-[

Turned up to work yesterday snow down the slope leading to carpark drove down ok and parked but getting it out was another story come 4pm when I finished work snow and Ice still covering the ground and it took ages to get any kind of grip.

If it wasn't one wheel spinning the other was doing nothing.

Now I know I am in need of new rear tyres I know but how does the dif/axle system work as I was amazed to see one wheel spinning and the other doing nought. unfortunately for me my car doesn't have the snow button.

In the end I got my car out by placing a piece of wood under the rear wheels moving forward and then moving the wood again, it was alright once I had got onto the dryish part of the slope.

Just thought I'd share the fun i had :D

General Discussion Area / Brakelight query
« on: 02 February 2007, 12:27:42 »
Is there any rules as to how many brakelights you have on the back of your car (obviously the standard boot lights).

I have enquired about a rear lip spoiler and have turned it down as I have the High Level Brake Light fitted.

Was wondering though if there were any laws stating how many you can have as I was thinking its either one or the other or does it not matter.

Just curious really
