One for the collectors, in an interesting colour, and very low mileage, if only the toy cupboard was big enough....I hope it goes to an enthusiast.

It's failed 7 MOT'S and the front chassis legs are rotting away. so what else needs doing on this car?.
-
cant recall ever seeing one in this colour .does look excellent thou.realy suits it.bit like the early silver moss from the early eighties era.
few silly failures over the years but nothing too serious. (suprised about tyres at that mileage ?)

Tyres were probably perished and cracked at the bottom of the treads, can't believe they were worn through. The corrosion is a concern, and the fact that the lights were seriously discoloured, which would tend to indicate that it's been outside a lot, not tucked away in a dark garage. It could be one of those abandoned cars with very low mileage but which has sat on someone's drive for years, that an enterprising chap has bought, mopped up and presented as a cherished car. It needs a closer look if there are any members up that way.

The corrosion is standard Omega. No corrosion would suggest a cherished museum piece or previously repaired.

Or not...

Type the number plate of any UK car and it will tell you the government inspection history of the car. Makes for some interesting reading sometimes... ;)

Not quite true ... if the car has an MOT in Northern Ireland, the information may be inaccurate .. my old 3.2 shows as MOT expired on that site .. but if you use the tax check site
https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/
it gives the tax and MOT status, for the 3.2 both still valid (tax due 1 May 2020, MOT due 28 November 2020
so you can get status but not history of NI cars (and AFAIK NI is part of UK !! )

Until midnight :P
Technically accurate Nigel, but the idea of, generally, being able to get a feel for condition/treatment of a car and our man in Belo Horizonte might find it interesting to use :y

Very interesting
I wasn't aware of that :y
I thought my old Carlton was MOT-less in a collectors barn in N.I
that site shows it's been MOTed again till mid Sept 2020 ,declared SORN In N.I and the "collector" ::) sold it on in June 2018, just a few months after buying it from me, and paying £400 transport to N.I :o

No cars are being tested in NI at the moment. I think there are 8 government testing stations, and cracks have been found in the lifts at some of them. So...no MOTs until it's sorted.

an odd choice to suspend MOTs due to slight cracks in the lifts
BUT ,how many cars will be driving about with cracks in vehicle structure ,steering, suspension in N.I
causing accidents, death, injury ::)
even with yearly MOTs there are some lots of deathtraps on the road
most drivers don't bother to check their cars other than a mandatory yearly MOT :(
plus.....
an MOT just means a car meets MINIMUM standards ,assuming the NT (MOT tester) doesn't miss anything in the short allowed time slot :-\

Breaking news: Three lifts back up and running...for the whole of NI. ;D

The Norn Irn MOT is different thing altogether to the one on the mainland. As alluded to above, its carried out at Govt. test centres, and they go over the vehicles with a fine tooth comb. If you buy a car from there with a recent MOT there shouldn't be a lot wrong with it.
My mate runs a fleet of wedding cars and some of the things they fail the MOT on is unbelievable.
