.....And, if you get confident, the speedo is driven off the drive train.  ......

No it's not! It's 'driven' via an ABS sensor .... which one though, I can't remember!  :-[  :y  :y  :y

Looks like i will be driving to the station in snow again!

Any tips? I don't have TC being a 2.2 and its a manual....

It did do well on Friday with the heavy snow, but i found changing from 2nd to 1st at 15mph was not a good idea, as i kicked the back end out. Best just to take foot of the gas and roll to a stop?

As for pulling off i have been using 1st, had no serious problems so far, is it best to pull of in 2nd (i think the snowflake button for autos forces it to pull of in 2nd?)
I know every must be done super smooth and super slow.

I think tomorrow morning, to give me better traction is put my big 3 ton jack in the boot, with a couple of boxes of books (luckly having a loft clearance and there are some heavy boxes in the garage!)

waste of time ,it makes no difference at all  ::) ::)

Of course it does!  :-? you still can't just plant your foot down though, there's still 200 bhp trying to get out!
I have still spun my Senator 180 in 3rd while being very gentle with the throttle though.

Personally dont want the meets to turn into a disco.

No one likes the same music as everyone else.

Meets are for talking and car work.

Most campsites i've stayed on take a grim view on anyone blasting out tunes.

all my opinion, others may have different views.

All the big oof meets so far have been fine without music.

On a serious note, I'm with you on that. Music is for listening to when you can give it all your attention, IMHO. I can't stand music in the background, especially if I'm trying to concentrate on something or talk to people.

Someone playing music at a camp site would drive me up the wall, too, so I wouldn't subject others to it. All just IMHO.

Kevin

Guy/AmigoMV6 put it on ......... & would let anyone turn it off. I wasn't argueing with him!  ::)  ::)

We had some music at Rufforth. All general stuff in the back ground, not in your face ... or ears!  :y  :y

Available in the UK, from £49.95 per pair!  :y

You can get chains cheaper than that!! :o :o :o

Chains can not be used on metal roads in uk if there is no lying snow.

Is there a special map for these roads ::)

It's called an A - Z  :y

Crap.
That's how mine is in the snow.
2.0 Auto, WWD, and a fair bit of lowdown torque.
A little better when I had the 'hold' function on.

Is that what Johnafon Woss drives?  ;D ;D ;D

Nope

Wrong Wheel Drive   >:(

You'll have to try to get WWD included in Glasses or Parkers as a new abreviation ........   :-?

This reminds me of one of my projects - to put some sump plug bosses into the autobox sumps. I know what I'm going to be doing at my welding evening course next week.  :y

Kevin

You know you need a TIG set with A/C  to do ally?  :-/ :y

The sumps I have are galvanised steel, I think. Will have to go and check... :-/

Kevin

:-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ DOH! Wellhung mislead me when he mentioned ally sumps.
You're right - an Omega's g/box sumps are steel, how would the magnetic stay in place otherwise!

makes on hell of a difference, I just wish it was doable without dropping the sumps

This is why everytime I'm down the scrappy I have a look for something with an ally sump. I want to cut it out and get it tig'd into the large sump on my gearbox :y

Not impossible, but it's not nice welding ally sumps. The oil soaks into the ally.

I must've done well then. I only spilled oil as I filled it back up again. The tube I was filling from the engine bay had come out of the gearbox!  :(  ;D  ;D
