No, just a bit of a fiddle as the access isn't great. Even with the scuttle removed be prepared for your hands to be in a sorry state afterwards as it is hidden down the back of the engine! There is a guide in the maintenance section.  ;)
Did mine only to find that it wasn't leaking.  :-[

After replacing the o ring on the transfer pipe, now that is a pig of a job, but no it wasn't that, I replaced the doughty washers on the coolant bridge. It has been fine since but my fingers are still crossed as the car has not been used much since. They did look a bit suspect when I removed them.
The problem was that it was a small leak, obviously from the back of the engine, the only evidence was a damp patch on the drive when the car was moved.

Congratulations on changing heater bypass valve, then transfer pipe O rings, then coolant bridge Dowty washers. I regard all those jobs as difficult. I hope all is well now. Aren't these end of life cars fun, always throwing up challenging problems.!

"End of life cars"! Watch your language!  ;) I intend to keep mine forever despite SWMBO trying to convince me to get rid of "that unreliable hobby car"! She will be going first!
All I need to do is fix the heated drivers seat, sticking rear blind, sat nav laser, rattling exhaust heat shield, change the atf and filter and finish rust proofing underneath and she will be sorted!
