Beg to differ mate, my 2.6 is capable of a nice turn of speed if requested.......Almost quick off the lights when the rams kick in and in sports mode at 70+mph it is fantastic......

Eh? What are the rams then? My car's no slouch but it would struggle to keep up with a warm hatch, never mind a hot one ;D ;D

PMSL - I'll put my MV6 up against any car and it won't disgrace itself in a straight line, with a 0-60 easily under 8s from an auto.  I reckon I could get a well maintained 3.0 manual comfortably under 7s.  Thats no slouch.

Now I've sorted the handling at long last, I'll put it up against most cars (and frequently did, even with its less than perfect handling).

2 intake valves, designed to flatten torque curve.  The difference they make is very noticible.

I have been fast enough and I will say that my 3.0 cammed 2.6 is as fast as my last 3.0.

And I would pit it against a warm hatch

Here Here, i have had a few plays in mine to date and have seen off a few hot hatches and more on the straights with ease, ok so its not as quick through the bends but hey you cant have it all

Ps Over 160mph top end is no slouch ;D

Hmmm, I'd say you're old 3.0 had issues then.

The best 2.6 I've pitted mine against was that liar Dundee's 2.6 manual, being driven at the time by Marks DTM, himself no slowcoach.  I got a better start, otherwise I would say it was even steven to 90ish, then the 3.0 started to creep away.  I should add, due to being responsible, this test was done on a runway.  The manual is quicker in general.

How often do you go over 90 normally?

I do tend to run super petrol either BP or Shell (mainly for cleaning reasons)
