Hi - I’ve just joined. My car is an estate 3.2, facelift, 2001 in silver. What I can’t workout is the model. The v5 states it’s a Vauxhall omega Ex which I assume is short for Executive however as far as I’m aware there wasn’t an Executive sold in the UK ? There was an Opel Omega Ex however & mine has an Opel steering wheel. The factory sign off has it as an Opel Omega Caravan.

I just wondered if anyone could throw any light on this ?

Thanks

Probably an Ireland car as they got Opels with Opel trim specs :y

Ok thanks. I hadn’t realised they sold Opel Omegas in Ireland. This one was bought new in the UK though ? VX badge on the boot Opel steering wheel?

I’ll maybe Email Opel & see if I can find out where it went from the factory.

Thanks again.

Chassis number should tell you...

Sticker in door shut... Also what is on the engine cover... Airbags and panels may have been changed but the Ecotec cover unlikely to get swapped.

Uk market was Vauxhall; Eire, Japan, Cyprus, South Africa and New Zealand were all Opel rhd; Europe was Opel lhd; Middle East was Chevrolet, and US/Canada were Cadillac.

Apart from the Cadillac cars, the only difference is badging and wheel position.

I’ve checked through the paperwork fully now & it was originally bought in Dublin. It’s only had one owner so he must have either moved to the UK or else bought it & imported it which I seem to recall was quite common back then. I bought a new Focus which was non UK spec in 06.

Anyway puzzle sold - thanks for your assistance !

Cheers
