Title: Omega 3.0 MV6 suddenly a 1.5!
Post by: AMP_V6 on 15 January 2010, 20:34:18
Hi all
Started her up from cold earlier, drove around half a mile and suddenly lost ignition on what seems like 3 out of 6 pistons (sounds like a scooby!) engine sounded fine, no bang etc just cut power to 3 cylinders!
Has anyone experienced anything similar? i can't find anything on the web :(
Cheers,

managed to get the unit out, sure enough it had corroded and burst out on one side!

does anyone know where the water is coming from that would cause this? could do with sealing the hole!

part number 0221503017 if anyone has one kicking about :)

Check the heater bypass valve for leaks its at the back left of the engine, is black and looks a bit like the starship enterprise also check the foam on the underside of the skuttle cover. I try to use bosch dis packs which cost about £80 off ebay but I have fitted one of these to someones car recently.

I still dont understand why they go rusty... I thought they were sealed units? Obviously not I guess! :o
