Audi Q7

Anyone got any experience of these?  ???

My mate had one and said that it chewed tyres even though he had the alignment done several times and eventually got rid.  :-\

No experience but it looks to be a big ugly f*ucker.

My guess......reliable until it isn't, and will cost a fortune to put right.

Fancy one?

It’s a VW product. What else do you need to know?

Well I think that's true of any big premium brand car. Like that Merc you had for example.  :)

Just mulling really, but my mates was a nice car to drive so maybe.

Yep. very attractive car that was a money pit and not particularly well screwed together either.

Looked good though with it's 'two banana' shape.

Only 306 BHP from the cooking 5 litre V8 though. :-\

I've seen one nearish here at a reasonable price and in the photos it looks OK.

The fella claims that it's had a stage two remap so it's a lot quicker than standard with 300bhp and he gets 40mpg on a run.  :-\

The 40 mpg claim sounds a bit of a stretch for a big heavy 3ltr V6, but then I don't know anything about remaps.  ::)

From the advert: Stage 2 remapped - they’re particularly lazy from standard but this one’s easily as quick as my TDV8 Range Rover.
Will get 40MPG on a run.

In isolation 300 BHP seems adequate. But is it enough when it has to haul all that diesel flab around. ;)

My opinion? If you're going to have 300 BHP, put it in something that handles.

.. and doesn't suffer from "legendary" German reliability. ;D

I've seen 37mpg from my 3.0 V6 ML350 on a motorway run.

It's not the reliability, but the German desire to make things as complicated and shitty to work on as possible. Add the horrific parts prices and the cars are best avoided.

Westfield? Lotus Super Seven? ::)

.....or for the terminally unhinged  Honda C70 Cub. ;D

500 BHP in something small and light. Not sure it handles well though.  ::)

Friends of ours had one about 4 years ago only went in it once but was very impressed, got rid because the service costs were horrendous ( always used main dealerships) they have now got a new Renault suv looking thing which they like don't know what model it is as I have no interest in Renaults.

That guy's clearly unhinged..
Not sure I heard him change gear during that whole ride. I'm guessing he didn't even bother with a gearbox. ;D
