Omega beginner
« on: 01 March 2007, 11:21:49 »

Hi all!

This is exactly the site I've been looking for!

I bought my first Opel Omega a month ago. It's a 2,2 Elgance Estate, 2003 model with 110 000 kms (6 900 miles) on the clock. Surely, it is no sports car, but it rides smoothly and the trunk space is like a smaller hangar. The rear wheel drive whith no traction control is a lot of fun on the icy winter roads up here in the north (Uppsala, Sweden). :D

I have problems with the self-levelling system and wheel shudder in the rear between 60 - 80 km/h (40 -  50 mph). I'll check out the FAQ's now to see if there are any clews to the solution in there.

See you later!

Ludvig

Hi Ludvig, a very warm welcome to the site.

Try posting your problem of rear wheel shudder on the technical part of the site. You will get some help there. :y

Thanks guys!

I browsed through about 15 pages of the Geheral Help section and found no one with tha same problem, so I'll take you advice and post a query of my own.

Sadly, the Omegas are extremely underrated here in Sweden. On the other hand, that makes'em a bargain on the second hand market :)

I personally agree with you there! Mine's only an entry level but still very smooth and very comfy, and more than accomodating for my 6'4" frame!!

My brother secretly loves it more than his Lexus, he just won't admit it!

AND might I add, welcome to the site!  ;D

Tank you all for the warm welcome!

My brothers, one driving a MB 300E and the other a Volvo V70, are mocking me (in a friendly way) for buying an Omega. But I can tell they're REALLY envious of all the space, comfort and goodies I got for my money  :)

having the prestige name is where their money goes, simple as that!!

repair bills on prestige models tend to be higher too!
