Surprised a 3rd party tool is allowed write access to such a critical component as engine map, you would have thought Jag would have locked that down for you average DIY'er  :-\

Remappers get around this easily enough. :)

True, but in a garage full of tech, not home DIY tool.

I'm a bit sceptical of these maps to be honest.

Dr Opti,

I have some magic beans here. £500, but you can have them for £250 cash.  :y :y

Seriously though, how did you apply the map if it was emailed? Not sure a 5.0 Supercharged V8, with 0-60 if 4s needs more power.  ;D

Yes and I fitted it last night, at around 10PM due to other commitments.  :(

Fitted, filled it up with cap off. Ran it up to engine temp and made sure stat opened. (top right rad pipe hot) - Burped the system to clear any air leaks, it dropped a bit when stat opened.

Topped it up again this morning before work, however on arriving at work, the level had dropped again.  :( - I hope it's just settling, as I did drain coolant via the rad tap when emptying the system.

My mistake, though due to suspension pressures that area could not be cut/weld.

Like you suggest, I suspect sills are rotten, mine were starting to get bad before sorted.

It's only a shock absorber mounting point so a repair is viable :y

Yours is/was one of the tidiest I've seen, though I suspect a few years of low priority has allowed rust to creep in.

As the body is tidy, worth jacking it up and making sure the underside is as good as can be expected, and catching the problem early.

I shall post some pictures, after I’ve cleaned it though, it’s still completely rust free exterior bodywork wise.  :y

I had AA about four years ago, then they just quoted a stupid renewal figure. i inquired why the hike but didn,t get a satisfactory reply and they also refused to lower the quote to a reasonable amount, so i moved on. Now i get e-mails offering competitive quotes. ;D

I’m expecting same from Admiral!

Closest I’ve been is Harrogate, loved that area.

That's the posh & expensive part of Yarkshire  ;) ;)

Thought so, we have expensive tastes.  ;D

Can't say that I have  :)

We did strongly look at move up north to Leeds or surrounding areas, due to the type of property we could get. Was not quite for us in the end.

Recall you can't simply plasma cut this out and weld new sections in, due to being key area for suspension.

Depends how badly it's gone through?  :-\

When I first joined Sky I was supporting their analogue and digital text services, within 1 year analog was gone. (2010 I think) - Around 3 years later, iText their digital one went off to.

Bookies were really upset, they still made shed loads of money!

Surprised BBC kept it running this long.

Have you tried AA Insurance? They were really cheap this year for me, not sure why!
