Front window regulator removal.
« on: 14 June 2023, 19:21:01 »

Anyone changed one ?
Window stopped going up or down. Tests seem to show motor at fault.
Doesnt seem possible to separate motor from regulator in situ so have got as far as freeing the whole assembly from the window and door.
It doesnt seem possible to get it out of the door though, without drilling out the rivets to remove the airbag unit and take it out the hole where the airbag lives ?
Im in a right mucking fuddle here.  ::)

It's been a couple of years since I replaced Amba's glass, but drilling the rivets was necessary.

When it's out, carefully remove the plastic rollers that run in the channel. You fit the regulator, then the glass, slide the rollers into the channel and pop them onto their pegs. Saves having to grow four more hands that are small enough to fit inside the door :y

I do remember the back one was easier...

Ive already drilled out the rivets that hold the regulator.

Rears are tight but motors can be done in situ.

Airbag rivets need drilling to have any chance of getting at the fronts.

Zzckly. Pretty much down to a bare door to do. Might even need to remove the latch :-\

Too long since I did one, but it was fairly straightforward an methodical.  (In my case, whole unit was changed, not just motor)

The big plate holding the side SRS sensor needs to come off to do pretty much anything in the door.

Its actually the airbag sensor on the door, which fires the airbag in the side of the seat. Just disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes, then unplugged the sensor.
