engine ECU immobiliser.

(1/2) > >>

countrywoman:
So is it possible to deactivate the immobiliser in the engine ECU on a 96 3.0 V6 or is the only way by getting a key chip.

Doctor Gollum:
To get the chip you need a car pass. For the car pass you need the V5.

A Tech2 might be able to programme it out, but that's above my pay grade.

With the transponder apart a wiring diagram and an understanding of how it works, a solution might present itself.

TheBoy:
If it's a MY 94/95, the immobiliser can be wired out.  If its MY96 onwards, it's a more advanced immobiliser setup that can't be wired out.  You may find a mapping company can map it out, but certainly standard diagnostic equipment can't.

STEMO:
Surely a paired ecu and transponder can be bought on eBay, etc. Or is that over simplistic?
