Omega General Help / Elite brakes

RE V6 Elite - front brakes.
Just changed front discs for Vx TC items & fitted the new pads. Plse someone confirm that pad with rubber backing fitted to non piston side of calliper & pad no rubber backing fitted to piston side of calliper. Thanx. If i got it wrong will have to swap them in morning :-/

For V6 - does anyone know part number of the little plastic scuttle clips - the ones at the back under the windscreen rubber? My local Vx stealer can't locate a part nº, and without that cant order them!

Omega General Help / Heater Fans

Coincidental to the aircon issue on the Estate (2.5 V6 Elite Auto), have noticed that interior fans when on "full" (Hi or Lo) are making a lot of noise - deep rumbling sound - altho output appears as normal.

Has anyone else experienced this?

How easy (difficult) is it to get to the fan(s), & where r they?

2.5V6 Auto Elite.
Had Kwik Fit regass aircon 2day - now icy cold but "smoke" coming from front of car. Checked & it looks like condensor leaking at bottom left hand corner - not smoke but gas + signs on floor under of dye.

Question - could this have been caused by KFit over gassing as I( wasn't over impressed with their knowledge or answers to my questions. They said it needed gas and leak tested ok.

Other question - is there a howto on swapping condensor out (i can get it vacuumed FOC prior to removal), and maybe refilled by KFit FOC.

Could someone plse confirm rear wiper blade is a 16". There appears to be some confusion, some suppliers saying 16", others saying 13".
Estate is 98 V6 Elite auto, mini facelift.

Omega General Help / low beam fld/vision

Got low beam fld/vision up on mid - 1998 2.5V6 Elite.
Checked sensors nsf and nsr - both intact but checked elec connections & partially stripped and freed up stiff arms.
Still have error.
Is this one of those that takes a nº of restarts to clear?
If not guess its the levelling motors.
Is there a how to on here? Or talk thro' from someone who has fixed these?

Help please - 1998 2.5V6 Elite Estate. Whilst driving ABS & TC lights sometimes come on together and stay on for about 5 minutes, then go off together. Car goes OK with no symptoms re ABS or TC. All pads fairly new and brake fluid level ok. Any ideas?

Omega General Help / Heavy Steering

1998 Elite 2.5V6 Estate Auto.
Further to my recent post re dodgy ABS ECU, http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1194380670/10#0 , have noticed that whilst ABS & TC lights on and no speedo, steering appears heavier than normal. When warning lights go off & speedo working, steering seems to return to normal.
Is this coincidental, or a function of the dodgy ECU?
Aux belt OK, power steering fluid level ok, power steering pump quiet.
Will be swapping ECU later this week so hopefully will sort out steering - or do u know otherwise?
