Omega General Help / Re: AC Filler Valve Leakage
« on: 02 May 2024, 16:38:38 »
Hi, and thanks for comments, so...

1. Can I screw the valve informed by Jim82 directly to the existing one or do I have to replace the old one with it?
2. For biggriffin's idea I need perhaps some explanation or is the High Pessure valve just the valve Jim82 proposed, hope you can provide a link, this all is new for me...

Omega General Help / AC Filler Valve Leakage
« on: 02 May 2024, 12:56:55 »
Had today AC-service (Y26SE), checking leaks and changing the refrigerant liquid etc. All ok except we found that the lower filling valve in front of the car started to leak.

Took a closer look and found that the leaking one has not a Filler Valve (inner part) like the other in the rear. So in rear the valve is like a tyre valve or like part No. 6 in the enclosed pic. But the front one is just a hole. In the hole there is something which you can push and increase the leakage but leak does not stop when releasing. Acc. to 7zap I seem to have construction referred as part 2. I guess that in this construction the separate inner part really does not exist. Any experience about this? In the plastic protection gap there is a rubber seal, If I tighten it I think that the leak stops. Strange, do I need the whole Part 2 or did I understand this in a wrong way?

Completed finally my camcover change, no leakages anymore but terrible smell around the car. Had to add about two litres oil before first start as there was nothing to be seen in the dipstick. I think most of the lost oil is burning around exhaust manifolds.

Omega General Help / Re: Is Sandwich Plate same as Intake Flange
« on: 29 March 2024, 11:35:39 »
Ok, what I believed is that the O-ring is around the brass spacer in a groove. When this spacer contacts the camshaft bit you can feel it. Turning more just destroys the thread. Have to study this more when back in my carage. Have there my old original covers. Now sitting in my Mobile Home, having nice Easter Time.

Thanks, yes, have to be careful with those plastic parts. What I often wonder is the warning of cam cover bolts overtightening. How can you warp the covers? It is 'Metal to Metal". I tighten them as long as I can feel this metal contact when the brass spacer contacts the head and that's it.

Omega General Help / Is Sandwich Plate same as Intake Flange
« on: 28 March 2024, 10:42:42 »
So I am there deep in V, Y26SE V6. Looking for Torque Values. Is it so that Sandwich Plate to Heads is 20Nm and thus next part Intage Bridge to Sandwich Plate is 20Nm, too. How about those four bolts of plenum to Intake?

Good to know about Erling, in my case they failed as the mayonese in breather blocked the system in -20 degrees. Victor Reinz was recommended somewhere here in OOF.

OK, thanks, I used ELRING last time and they were linked acc to Autodoc picture, but if these are ok, I continue, thanks again.

Omega General Help / Y26SE Cam Cover Seals in one or two Pieces
« on: 27 March 2024, 17:19:26 »
Just opening the package of Victor Reinz 15-34268-02 to install cam cover seals. Is it really so that there are two separate seals for one cover. I remember when I removed the old one four weeks ago that it was in one piece, there was some kind of 'Bridge' that joint these two seals together in both ends, so are these OK??
