Hi,

My Dad (currently in Hospital  :() has a Omega 2.2 CD Auto Facelift (W plate).

He complains that the indicators "Beep" is not loud enough (and has  :-[ left them on a few occasions).

Is there a simple way of fitting a internal 12V buzzer which will give clear audible sound that indicators are on !!!!

He does have a Towbar and single Trailer Electrics fitted if that would make the task easier ?

I can sort it for him whilst he is in the Hospital.

Thanks in advance.
Andy.
Can be done with just 2 diodes 1N4002 or equivalent and a buzzer.

Wire the anodes of the diodes to the black/green and black/white wire on the indicator switch (1 diode each).

Join the cathode's of the diodes together and wire them to the buzzer +

Connect the buzzer - to 0V/Earth.

Simples.

If your car has Bose, be prepared to rewire the entire audio system and speakers ;)
Or just fix a 6 channel amp capable of driving 2 Ohm speakers. Fit the amp under the rear shelf where the bose amp is located as you'll have direct access to all speaker wires.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Total closure of Windows

I've never got my total close to work, including the sunroof.

Tried all combinations of holding button's, holding key over, pressing button's multiple times....

Windows work normally on the window switches (press for 1 second and release) and sunroof works when rotating the knob.

Carl,

Does it work from the driver's door lock?  :-\

No idea what  the fault might be ....... just trying to narrow it down  ::)

Nope, Tried key in the lock, still can't get it to work.

The 1 touch windows work and have done the reset procedure and nope, nothing..

Will try the hold all the way down and hold while already down.

I've noticed the paint comes off with IPA.

What's IPA. I only know it as Indian Pale Ale. But that's me showing my age  :y
Also known as Rubbing Alcohol.

Will you get the remote controls to work, as those types of controls were only fitted to full CAN cars?
Yes, Been working on an interface to use the button's like the standard 6 button's but also to use the extra button's (any button or combination of left and right button's could drive a relay).

Waiting for the PCB's to come from America first (oshpark.com), then will build an interface.

Only thing I've not checked yet is if the wheel will fit and if connections are there already (hoping so).

Omega General Help / Re: Omega A Digital Pannel code 156.
« on: 06 March 2015, 14:59:48 »
if it is oil pressure fault, can this be why the red F illuminates sometimes in the region next to the speed read out?
i know there is a level sensor on the side of the oil pan, and a pressure sensor at the side of the crank pulley... i have some oil seep from the front engine seal, can this affect the triggering of this code 156?
Yes, The F is there to indicate a fault.

There are 2 oil related signals from the engine to the LCD, 1 is standard oil pressure switch (yes/no type signal), other is oil pressure (which is analogue like temp and fuel). Both should come from the same sensor.

Only know the LCD codes as I have a German LCD e-manual.

It is possible to turn off the fault code display by re-programming the LCD chip.

Generally any 'standard' bulb that claims to be 4K+ or equivalent seems to be not for road use so tread carefully.
Does anybody ever turn foglights on on the road  :o.  Time to start shooting retards again, methinks
It's when they start using fog lights and it's not even foggy that gets me, :(

I was shamed to see a miggy driving around this evening with sidelights and front fogs on. :(

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / GPS Connector Type
« on: 01 February 2015, 21:56:51 »
Does anyone know what type of connector this is? (It goes to my Pioneer SPH-DA110 Headunit)

Also what connector is used for the 2013 Navigation headunit on the Omega, I'm looking to get an adaptor so I can use the existing GPS antenna or replace the whole antenna.
