Paintwork, Sign Writing Removal, left over residual.
« on: 25 August 2021, 22:38:34 »

Removed some Sign Writing of a Van carefully using a Heat Gun, all good in that department, however there's an almost invisible tacky leftover residual left over that I can seem to shift tried everything from T Cut, Fairy Liquid, Petrol etc and more heat, it does start to come off but is bloody hard work for little results. There must be something out there which works well for this sort of thing, just need to know what ?

Isopropyl alcohol might work. It shifts most things. :y

Actually thats a goid call, last time I used that stuff it took the Skin off my hands.

Really?? There are at least three places that do it on the industrial estate 1mile from here.

An automotive paint supplier will also have what you need.

Even Euro Car Parts sell it.

Or you could buy THIS LINK from one of the signwriters 1.5 miles in another direction....

It came up when I Googled vinyl sign writing remover

Have you tried gently warming the adhesive with a heat gun, and careful work with a plastic scraper?

Expect to have to compound the entire panel, as the covered areas won't have faded.
