Trade club and parts prices.
« on: 26 August 2010, 23:58:10 »

Vauxhall offer a 'Trade Club' discount scheme to buy many common service parts at a heavily discounted rate, this club is open to garages, some car clubs, some local businesses, and is how many of us obtain our parts.

http://www.tradeclub.co.uk/

Vauxhaull trade club is primarily available to traders, and as such you need to be in the trade to qualify. BUT.....several car clubs such as
http://www.autobahnstormers.org  have negotiated access for their members, and after contact from admin here have made it clear they are happy for oof members to join as the yearly fee of £20 supports their club. So everyones happy, we get access to trade club prices, the fee supports another good car club, and trade club secure some business.

It may be possible to sign up directly with Vauxhall, some small businesses may qualify, or once the parts department get to know you they may let you in as a favour, or just try and blag it.  Ask the parts department for an application form.   If successful this also means you get a PDF  on cd containing all the deals so you don't have to log in to the website every time you want to view, New deals and various bumpf get sent directly to you. This is free with no annual fee.

Another way of getting the tradeclub deals is to....pm andyc, a member here and at abs

He has access to trade club through his dealership and will send parts mail order, handy for overseas members or those without trade club access.

To join abs click the link above and/or download the info PAC.  http://www.autobahnstormers.org/Club_Information_Pack.pdf
Fill in the details and post, card usually arrives quickly in a couple of days, direct debit is renewed yearly unless you cancel.

Once you receive the card, email trade club via the contact link, giving your membership details and they will give log in details to access the trade club web site where you can view part numbers, prices and the latest deals.

Now go save some money, but beware not all prices are the best available, oil plugs and brakes are very competitive at time of writing giving good savings, cam belt kits however seem less so, so do shop around. Springs are still quite expensive on tc, try Kyb for these via buypartsbuy through sutton auto factors who are also competitive for most parts, fast next day delivery too.

Also consider

For lemforder wishbones and suspension and steering parts.

But as said do shop around, links provided for info only.  :y
