Hi all....
I have booked the Community Centre at Hazlemere for our Autumn Meet on Saturday October 10th
I know its well in advance, but those wishing to stay at the Papermill Premier Inn can get booked in in advance and hopefully save a few bob. The Pre-Meet meal would obviously have to be the Friday evening.
If you are interested in coming to the meet, please respond.
Easy access from M40, M25, M1, M4, A404, A4, A40.
We are 3 miles from the Papermill Premier Inn, Loudwater. Do not book the Premier Inn in the centre of High Wycombe.
All usual facilities. However, we will have to be clear by six at the latest, as there is a function on in the evening. :y
PM me if you have any enquiries about the meet.
Tony

-
Can't be helped Andy...pleased that you always try to get down when you can :y
-
Ahh.. Will likely be driving back from my annual pilgrimage to jocular land on that day.. :(
-
Hi Mr. T. Thanks for organising another gathering at your excellent venue. I know you always bring along all three of your cars. Afraid I cannot bring along all six of mine, but I have arranged that my daughter will bring her 2.6 (MOT is due) to exchange with my 3.2, so we shall have two cars there. See you on the 10th.
-
Great news Terry....look forward to seeing you both :y
-
Sadly won't be able to make this meet :(
New role involves a 'flexible' shift pattern, and Octobers' roster sees me working 12 hour days on the 9th and 10th and an early shift, up at 0245 on the 11th, so popping over for the inevitable curry is also out...
Must be the first Wycombe meet I have missed, but sure it will be upto Terberts usual standard :y
-
What time does this meet usually start? I might be able to make it but need to leave around 4-5pm (not that anyone would miss me ;D)
-
People start arriving from about 10.30 on. I am always on site early anyway.
This meet will have to finish by 6 anyway, due to a function after in the main hall. :y

Alas, no longer able to make this one. Roll on May 2016!
Have a great meet!

Who we talking about here Ken ?
-
Sorry for the confusion Al,sort of crossed over from another topic, biggriffin said to vauxsull about coming to Saturday's meet to get his power sounder removed, before realising that he's up in north Wales, hence the comments about a blinding drive/directions etc and MV6 trim ::) ::)

;D ;D ;D ;D Yep know all about that . . . . it was ME ! ;D ;D I thought that was who you were refering to . . .
But about a 400 mile round trip for him . . . I know Christines sausage & bacon rolls are yummy . .
but thats a lot of fuel in a Mig . . . don't think we'll be seeing him there ::) ::)
-
You have got to have a sense of humour and very deep pockets to drive an Omega ::)
-
For goodness sake. We went through Hazlemere yesterday! Should have reorganised WIM...
-
Flippin' eck...you came within half a mile of me.....gives us a shout if you come back :y

I was joking to MrsGK that we were in several OOF hotspots, we only saw one MFL and got a thumbs up...
Next time I'll sort out a whistlestop tour of OOF tea stops :D
-
I *may* have to leave earlier than usual. I might not even make the mandatory post meet curry :'(
*BUT* I will be there for the afternoon :)
-
I have every intention of being there Tony. Will drop Mrs YZ off shopping and pop up for a natter. :y
-
It's unlikely we will make it now :'(
-
I am going to try and make it (in my old elite) if that is ok Tony :P - I would appreciate some pointers on the gear selector cleaning process - still don't grasp the realignment bit. Will get some switch cleaner - is anything else needed? Thankyou.
P.S. A Tech 2 session would be great too!
-
Be great to see you if you can make it. I am sure TB will have the bit of kit :y
As to the switch cleaning stuff..above me I'm afraid....
-
It's a pity that HKT (Al) can't make it this time round......pretty sure that he would know the'how to' bit on that one :y
-
Thankyou gentlemen.
Tony i was gutted i couldn't make the last one but it was unavoidable due to being abroad on business
I am presuming you remove the switch from the inside of the car as opposed to from underneath? - i don't mind "experimenting" on the day!!
-
It's the switch assembly on the side of the gearbox... Requires ramps and a couple of spanners/sockets to unbolt the selector rod and the bolts to the gearbox casing and unplug the loom... Then switch out and dismantle/clean as per guide :y
-
Well....I can take Jacks, ramps, stands, etc, etc......but you will need an experienced man to go under !!!!! :y
-

Sadly not I... :'(
0600-1800 Saturday and 0500-1700 on Sunday...
-
That's a bummer Al...you have been to every one so far. :(
Can you supply me with the name and details of your employer, mate. I shall start throwing my weight around...nothing is bigger than OOF, especially OOF Wycombe meet !!! ;D
-
Thanks for the pointers Al - am still confused about the realignment bit but at least i know its an under the car jobbie.
Tony - ramps etc.. would be great thankyou - we can also start a petition to Al's employer :P

Generally doesn't need realigning if you are just cleaning it.
The alignment is to ensure gear lever is in the "right position"
-
Food is purchased for Saturday....
We shall be offering, French bread, round rolls, long rolls, with big sausages, little sausages, bacon medallions, cheese, ham, crisps, sausage rolls, chicken things, cookies, chocolate munchy things, brown sauce, red sauce and mustard. Coffee and tea.
No set charge, just donations to cover our cost. :y
Beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks, are chargeable from the bar, as are chocolate bars, nuts, twiglets, etc.

Did you come in your fun car Mr250? Dont recall seeing a BMW and I wanted to hear the Jetex exhaust
Thanks to Tony and everyone else for making me feel welcome. As others have said, its nice to put faces to usernames. Thanks to TB for taking a look at my car. :y Hopefully my car is cleaner and better shape for the next meet.
-

......
The beemers not welcome at Wycombe, otherwise I'd be in it. :'( ;D
The Jetex was on the Omega hiding in the corner. The exhaust was singing on the way home, Mrs YZ was not happy. She asked 'was that really necessary'. ::)
Apologies for not introducing myself, I was milling about and saw the car but wasn't sure who owned what. :-[ Glad you could make it. :y
-
I do recall seeing a Black Estate parked a few spaces away from the Monza. Was that yours?

Many thanks to Terbs & Chris for yet another great day & indeed the Friday night get together with Mr & Mrs Nitro & ourselves at the Prem inn :y :y
Great to meet a few more new faces & as well as seeing the regulars, Some very nice cars to be admired there on the day.
Apologies to Nick W for getting him involved in what probably turned into a nightmare adjusting the wiper sweep on Johns black 3.0 MV6 :( :( . I hope it all got sorted as I had to leave while it was still being done :'( :'(
This oof thing is certainly unique in the freindship & social aspects in my opinion & long may it continue :y
Looking forward to Sereks social get together in November now :y
-
Thanks for a great meeting Tony and Chris. Pity it wasn't as warm as Friday, but at least it kept dry.
I am a bit ashamed of my tatty my cars compared with other members' cars at Wycombe meets. After the meeting I called on an old school friend who who has made too much money and now lives at Cookham Dean. I found his place and proudly parked my daughter's Omega alongside his dodgy motors, see pic. I had arranged to see him at 3pm, but when I rang the door bell there was no reply, turned out he had stood me up. I walked all round the house looking for him, taking photos, no-one about. In desperation I rang him, no reply, so I left a grumpy message and set off for Somerset.
As I was leaving the wretched man appeared and flagged me down. Turned out he lived next door. His cars are a Range Rover and a Honda Jazz.

It did take an embarrassing amount of fiddling about though!
I really like these meets; a good venue with facilities, food, well attended to put faces to names and some fun work on cars. Not having a curry afterwards was a bit disappointing.
-
I think Ishould stop coming to these meets every time I see all the omegas together I want another one 😜
-
We are on this earth for a short time, so do it you know its right. :y
-

Good work :y
I'll bring mine to the next one. I cant be arsed to change the rear springs. :D :D :D :D

Not having a curry afterwards was a bit disappointing.
Hopefully, normal service will be resumed next time... ...my best laid plans went to pot a few days before the meet, so for me it was only ever going to be a quick meet this time :(
Shame, as a late-ish night on a Saturday is an ideal opportunity for a curry... ...and due to time constraints, I had to make do with a rather naff microwave chilli from Tesco :(
