Title: Sky Q hub
Post by: STEMO on 20 April 2018, 12:36:59
Just bought my self one of these from the bay of the unmentionables, hoping to do a straight swap for my useless sky hub. They are supposed to have a better range and are dual band. We shall see.

Not had any issues with mine, wifi stretches to the garage and front of the house. But mine is a modern house with no solid internal walls.....

Do you have a Q box?

No, but it's not for the lack of sky trying.

You know, I know, my Mum's dog knows, they are all universally shite. End of.

The latest of the best of the current crop are, at best, adequate for now.

Until we're all streaming 4k to multiple devices and then people will be retro-fitting ethernet to their homes ::)

Yep, can't beat a bit of wet string. :y

Bit of a shame that's all we have for the incoming connection to the house, but there we are.

Hub arrived today. Much quicker to connect downstairs and seems a bit better upstairs. I'll give it a chance to settle down.

Much better. I have a netgear WiFi extender in a bedroom which was having trouble getting enough of a signal to actually extend. It's working much better now and I'm getting a reasonable signal throughout the house. For £25 it's a useable, if not perfect, solution.  :)

When you do get Sky Q installed, each box (the main SkyQ Box, and each 'multi-room box) act as WiFi access points, so if you have multi-room, you effectively have a strong signal whever the DigiBox is.
