The crime is sick, but the sentence is even worse. What a fickin travesty:

I have to agree .
I cannot begin to imagine their despair at the collective incompetance and lack of judgement from the authorities in the whole sorry saga .
How can they ever put faith in any judicial system again and how can a Judge feel that that is a fair and just penelty for such a heinous crime .
I do honestly believe that there should be a root and branch review of the crime versus punishment system in the UK but it's a sad fact that in most cases the punishment fits the available incarceration space .
Perhaps when we see the spread of Sharia law we may feel more content ........

Friend of mine works for HMPS (recently joined) and has swallowed the handbook on "We must rehabilitate the poor dears" .. we now avoid talking about justice.
28 months ffs. Cut his nads off and feed them to him, but not before you've used his todger as a suppository.
And then I read this, the other day: "Jail sentences of six months or less for most crimes could be scrapped to alleviate pressure on the system, the prisons minister has suggested."
Might as well just announce The Purge and be done with it, at this rate.

Are you insinuating that a politician, would do a slightly dodgey deal to further his own gains (wealth) while in political office.

The death penalty must be restored.
At least for any murderer who has, without any doubt, committed that crime.
In cases of serious assault 10 years should be the minimum, and for rape as in this case, 20 years, with all sentences having to be fully served, without any talk of parole .
Anyone who kills whilst drunk in charge of a motor vehicle it must be a minimum of 25 years custodial sentence.
That is just for starters! ;)

Government statistics show that immigrants are a disproportionately high percentage of people in prison. If you are an overseas criminal the UK is a very rich hunting ground and the chances of getting caught, convicted and then imprisoned are from very unlikely to never. Never getting a jail sentence if under 6 months will be a great recruitment advert to grow this sector of the unofficial economy and as they get more confident in there impunity so they can graduate to more and more serious crimes. >:( >:( >:(
Where the government use the tosh about reducing reoffending for going softer and softer on crime, the best way to stop it is to keep the criminals locked up. :y

Agreed, Keith, and if we ever get out from under the influence or Europe, we can apply the proper penalties for treason at the tower. If you have ever been to Traitors' Gate there, you will have seen the post that they tie traitors to, awaiting the arrival of high tide - whereupon they slowly drown! :y 8)

Middle Ages weren’t too bad after all....... sigh, as said, if it were done to one of mine, I would be more than happy to deal with the little c#nt and accept the fallout, as to be quite honest I would rather be punished for that and be able to sleep rather than think what I should... would have liked to have done and never rest. I honestly can’t believe some of the stuff going on at the moment.
