tuned out to be the waterpump. it was getting worse so i changed the thermostat and tried again but a vx mechanic tol me to look at the pump. half of its plastic impellor had broken away. in he space of 3 days ive fitted a water pump to my mates 2.0 omega and now my td! are they all that bad?

my temp gauge seems to move when im traveling at 80 mph (on a private rd) up to the 100 and sometimes past it. if i turn the heater blower on to full it very offen increases the temp readout by 5-10 deg's. if i slow down again or turn the heater of it will drop. when slowing down it will drop rather quickly and just seems like an electrical fault as i dont think that the car would cool down that quick.

any ideas guys? thanks

my alarm light flashs when i arm the thing. it say in the book tht it should stay on then it'll start flashing. my cenral locking works but i dont think the alarm is setting as ive not managed to set it off either! it says thealarm is self diagnosing so how do i find out whats wrong with it? cheers guys!

I'm looking at a stainless steel exhaustv from cat back with reomving the centre silencer and opting for dual silencers at the rear with the exits being on each side of the bumper.

i think the fuel tank will put a stop to that... had the same idea on my estate

in a slightly related way to the topic. i fitted some high level indicators to a recovery van and just joined into the original wiring. this put the towing light on the dash and it flashes when the indicators are on!

hey. thought id pop allong as ive just got myself a bargain and thanks to this site fixed it for very litlle cost! the auto box had failed so out it came and ive stuck a (ar25?) 2.5 v6 one in for the time being till i get a 3.0 v6 one took 1.5 days all in. mine has done 152000 but looks like its only done 52k! only paid £450 and the box was a freebee. spent 60 quid on atf and sevice items from hallfrauds with trade discount so ive got a 30grand car for just over 500 qiud!

i use halfrauds alot. i got a trade card which gives a good discount on their mega over priced stuff and makes it slightly better than the local parts shops. but ya get the parts as they keep more instock

eg. h1 super bright high output bulb norm 14.99 down to 8 quid with the card.

works on all parts they have instock whether halfords own or branded parts
