Our shower (Mira Sport 10.8) is acting the mick, and has lost most of its temperature adjustment.

On the lookout for a new one..

Quite tempted by the new Mira Sport Max 10.8 with 'airboost' but the extra electronics concern me a bit.

Anyone got / seen / tried one?  or have any recommendations for an alternative?

I know its Electic so will never win any high flow awards....but do want the best flow possible while sticking with electric.
(power shower would be lovely...Maybe when we totally redesign the bathroom, but no time soon)

As always, want the performance, but also on a reasonable budget.  £250 tops really.

So electric shower only recommendations please.

Cheers

it might also be the heater can - they are cheap to replace as well so it might be worth a check first.  before too long you'll find the new shower has pipes or power in a different place which means new tiles etc and the job can expand.

simple answer, just use a pump for a situation with negative head such as the link below

seriously, follow mark's advice.  Do not threaten, do not be impolite but pursue the matter in the small claims court

Broadly, issue the invoice setting payment terms

chase, invoice

issue final warning ( letter of credit I believe)

issue small claims online ( search for money claim online)

he'll probably pay when that hits his mat but if not then keep ALL communication including notes of meetings and conversations and pursue it

as previous pose really.

the operator has the legal liability to you, don't get fobbed off on the manufactuer of the washer or their insurer etc.

simple step will sort this out

1) gather all evidence of damange, faulty machine etc

2) get quote for repair work

3) write polite letter requesting reimbursement of monies ( letter of claim under the small claims service)

4) follow the small claims timescales to the letter and if you need to follow that process

My guess is that as soon as the small claim notice falls on their mat they'll pay up but not before so be prepared to fight

bit like the clarke hub puller from Machine mart I had - first use it split in half.  reminded me yet again to avoid cheap tools

Hi Everyone.

I've been offered a contract working for C&S Motor Group in London. The job is as a self employed recovery driver. They provide you with a recovery truck, sat nav etc.

Apparently some of the work involves recovering cars for the Met (after accidents etc.)

I'm worried that I won't pass the vetting procedure as I got a caution 3 and a half years ago. I was in a violent and abusive relationship and defended myself and got in trouble for it even though I was in hospital for 2 weeks.

Is there any point in me going through the training and vetting procedure?

Will the Met reject me for this?

When I applied for the job they said nothing about needing to pass a CRB check or anything like that.

Are cautions ever spent?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm really worried about this.

as per the previous post re vetting.  But there is a different angle.  they might say you are self employed to get around employee rights ( paid holidays, maternity pay, pensions etc).  don't create a fuss unless you have to but just be aware of what terms they think they can impose and what they can really get away with.  ( for example if you are self employed then they pay you gross, you have to pay your own tax and NI)

just use it as an excuse to buy a new machine.  chances are that the bearing will fail soon anyway. seems typical on shitepoint

look on the bright side, you can always arrive late for a job and blame the limiter on the van.  If the boss has a go, then its constructive dismissal time etc

slightly off topic but blackberry unlock codes are free with 24 hour wait online - just google them

don't think that HTC are for that phone

sincere condolences to you and your family

hmm, now that might just work.  will give it a try.

failing that I guess i'll sacrifice the bearing

thanks both

the hub nut is off ( got 3/4 socket set to do that).  problem with a press is that the axle is welded to the beam so it will not fit a press.

am currently stuck...
