I keep getting letters from virgin media about the ammount of usage on my broadband account and they are now threatening to "manage" my account, with 4 kids in the house ,all with laptops, i can appreciate that we will be using a fair ammount of internet, however, i must admit our wireless network is unsecure (linksys wrt54) how do i secure this ? as a self confessed luddite, is there an easy way to secure the network? any help would be appreciated

Anybody any knowledge on how to change the heating element in a fan oven ? looks like ours has packed up ,no fuses gone and everything works as it should apart from no heat.The elements themselves are pretty cheap,under £20 in most cases ,just need to know where the thing is,at the panel at the back of the oven or is it an oven out job and start dismantling the casing, any oven experts out there ?

I'm on the point of being made redundant from the council after 23 years service ,at nearly 52 i've got no illusions about my employment prospects in the building industry,however,here's the rub, i have the chance to be re-deployed as a Traffic warden , never thought i'd be in such a position but with mortgage etc i'm up a well known creek without a paddle , do i swallow my pride and go for it or take my redundancy and hope for the best. What would you chaps do ?

been said on here before ,but it is really is just a case of filling the forms in and posting off, had 2 claims upheld , one for over £800 and another for over £2700, all for the price of the stamps and a bit of time on the forms (which aren't rocket science) got the forms from the Martin Lewis money advice site . These PPi reclaim companies are making money for virtually doing nothing

« on: 07 April 2012, 17:11:20 » My elderly E-Machines PC is taking longer and longer to start up,it's now at the stage where it will only start if i boot it from"safe mode with command prompt" other wise nothing happens , i have done the usual de-frag , disc clean up and also a full anti virus system scan ,really don't want to spend any money on it as it's getting on a bit now, any ideas ?

« on: 11 December 2011, 18:46:02 » Nipped into the cafe at our Tesco's while the wife was doing some shopping ,everything was closed off,looked like a nuclear incident ,lots of people running around "what's going on ? " i said to a worried looking person, "someone has been sick at a corner table so we've had to close the whole cafe down as a (you've guessed it), health and safety issue !! the whole bloody cafe! whats wrong with a mop and bucket for f***s sake!! must have cost them hundreds turning customers away
