1/4 Million Miles
« on: 22 August 2014, 13:38:24 »

Just rolled over last night on the way back from the airport with the family. It still drives superbly and continues to be a very reliable and comfortable car. A big contrast to the 1.3 diesel Corsa we rented while we were in Spain. What a relief to be back in my Mig.

Me neither, I filled up once and the red light came on as I left the forecourt. It was on all the time after that. ;D ;D

I've got a mere 200,000 miles with no knocks, no rattles.

You don't see many cars at 250,000.  Some of the old Merc's, maybe a handful of e39 BMW's.

How many other cars will make it to 250,000 I wonder.  I'm surprised Omegas do - not because they are not capable, but because (perceived) running costs and fuelling, versus age/value would mean so many get traded in for something newer with a status badge  :-\. Certainly in the UK, where non status badge 2nd hand cars are worth nothing.

The fact we stick with them shows something...  ...the motor trade is going backwards :(
