Exhausts
« on: 02 March 2016, 07:39:01 »

The exhaust on my 2002 2.6V6 is shot. The last one came from eternal but i gather they no longer supply these items. Can anyone recommend a supplier for a cat back system which isn't going to break the bank.

ETS (from their shop on ebay).

The operation and the product is so similar to that of Eternal it could almost be the same company.

Just had email from ETS saying that have no compatible exhausts for a 2002 facelift 2.6V6. Will any other variants fit or could anyone else help with another supplier please

I fitted the 3.0 v6 pre facelift cat back exhaust system from ETS on my facelift 2.6 estate, it fits perfectly, as will the 2.5 v6 exhaust, but be aware that the exits from the backbox are slightly shorter as the pre facelift had smaller bumpers, some people add a chrome trim to extend them but I did not and have not had any issues, 3.0 v6 exhaust has twin exit pipes on the backbox, the 2.5 v6 exhaust has a single exit pipe, just depends which you prefer, also be sure to let them know whether saloon or estate as they are quite different.

2.5 or 3.0 (if you want twin exit). Tail pieces a tad short, if this bothers you, get single outlet one and look down the chav tail trim aisle in Halfords :y

As TB said - get a 2.5 and tail trim and you're set.

I fitted a 3.0 litre system to my 2.6. As TB says the tail pieces are a little short because the facelift cars have a deeper rear bumper.

I was originally very concerned about the length of the tail pipes and was going to fit extensions to them but after 3 years I still haven't got around to it......

A word of warning - I am not sure which country they come from but in some European countries (eg Germany) it is illegal to fit non-approved components to a car. Just say that you are fitting it to a 2.5 (or 3.0 if you want twin tail pipes) or they may refuse to process your order.

Also got a ETS 2.5 Estate system for SWMBOs 2.6 Estate - got local indy tyre/exhaust place to fit it for, I think, £40.  Quiet and no issues since (fitted well over a year ago)

I had problems with ETS and their refusal to supply me a 3.0 backbox for my 2.5... They just kept telling me it wasn't compatible... stoopid ruddy crouts... I even told them it doesn't matter as it will be chopped up anyway... they still refused... I got a 3.0 BB from a local motor factors instead...
