I def like the look of them. never had a chance to drive a mk1.
Quite rare as iirc only available in Y, A or B reg Think that was something like 1983 to early 1985. Maybe some late 82s as I believe Vauxhall released new models in October back then.

Hope my memory serves me correctly.  :y

I had one of the last GTE's from new,  brilliant to look at, but the car had loads of problems, so chopped it in for a nissan and stayed away from Vx for a few years.

Yep, get some photos up for us . I love 'em . Quite rare now ,rotton bulkhead killed most of them and then they just became an "old worthless car "
We have a couple in our Opel club over here both in very good condition.
Here's a friend of mine's D Gte and his sons Nova Gte alongside my Manta at a recent charity run around Dingle Peninsula.

I had a black one which had been owned by a local casanova, he was caught in a compromising situation and the husband poured paint stripper on the roof which ran down the sides. I bought the car very cheap, painted the bare metal with red lead and drove it around for about 2 years, I was a good car ;)
