Found the problem, the hose that goes from the block to the bottom of the HBV has a 1cm split in it. Max is kindly going to collect some spares from Henry for me.

It was easy to spot once I got the rain scuttle out the way but what a bugger to get out as it had one of those spring type hose clips on it which you couldn't get the pliers too ended up having to slowly and carefully lever it off.

Will be using the screw type hose clip when I refit it.

The culprit

any takers on the odds of both our coolant pipe failures being the same pipe?

No, That's happening tomorrow. "need smiley for Crossed fingers and a hopeful demeanour"

I have been running about in the 106 for a week.....  it's just desserts really for taking the piss out of the Rover......

needless to say that I'm going to take the long way home on Saturday night :D , give it something of a "shake down" run.

As I'm about and sober, I could probably do a couple of taxi runs to hotels at the end of the day.......
