Car still stuttery on idle - the egr blanking plate made no diff. when on for 2 weeks so i took it off since it seemed to use more fuel. This is not a major issue but is the icv for 2.5 ltr petrol common to other engine sizes? - might try a cheap secondhand one as a process of elimination and it will make it easier to find if it is common to more than 1 engine size .

agreed   It may be worth disconnecting multi plug from maf to see if it helps

Change your plug leads mate mine was like that-cheap leads were breaking down and arcing-took me some time but touched the while engine running wallop-nice shock to the system
