1999 2 litre manual petrol estate
I am changing the heater bypass valve, so have removed the scuttle. I observe the lower wiondscreen rubber seal is coming unstuck from the screen in the middle. above the coil pack. How should I reattach it?
I watched a winscreen man change a screen last year. The screen came separate from the seal, and he had a large tube of glue he applied to them to bond them together. I wonder what he used?

Not read the post, as its clipped on. So apologies if talking bollards

Remove scuttle complete. Clean and push seal on. Re fit scuttle.

If fitted correctly, seal require no goo whatsoever :)

Some of the lower trims came in two pieces. A hard plastic trim that's goes on glass and a hard rubber trim that clips onto that. Is it all off the bottom?

I am talking about the rubber strip that attaches to the bottom of the screen. It includes a rubber flap that covers the top of the scuttle that clips to the body with plastic clips.

You might be lucky and be able to seal it back onto bottom of screen. Problem might be if there residue under screen that will stop trim getting fully seated back onto screen

The screen is, or at least should be, fitted as below...

1. Screen.
2. Frame. Either 2 or four pieces, either way, bottom edge is alway separate.
3. Rubber finishing trim. 2 pieces, again separate bottom edge.

Old screen removed and aperture is cleaned up.

Frames (2.) are fitted to Screen (1.). Rubber trims (3.) are then clipped to the frame. Absolutely NO adhesive what so ever.Screen is then inverted and has a bead of adhesive applied to the circumference of the inside face.
Screen is then placed into position and pressed home.

Any goo on the rubber trims and the screen hasn't been fitted properly  :-\
