Title: No sound from alarm

Hi,
can anyone help please, when my alarm goes off
the indicators flash but ther is no sound is this linked to
the power sounder ?

Yes.

There may also be an additional horn. Both are mounted to a bracket under the drivers side scuttle. ;)

Sounds like either the powersounder has failed or has been unplugged. If it is still there, and plugged in, then it either needs replacing or removing permanently :y

As above ...... and a quick way to tell if it's still there is to stick your finger through the deep grommet just rearwards of it, pop the grommet out and feel for it, or shine a torch in the hole.  :y

My advice is remove powersounder if present and replace the alarm horn. Will assume they have both failed if there is no sound at all. Powersounder is Vauxhall exclusive and as i understand a firehazard when they get old. Opel Omegas dont have them and the alarm should work fine with just the ordinary horn.
