omega idling problem
« on: 05 January 2021, 19:10:43 »

hello, what would be wrong with my omega 2.0 8 valve, sometimes when the car has been idling for around 15 min, the revs suddenly drop and jump between 500-0 for a few seconds and then the car shuts down. when i try to start the car again, it cranks but doesnt start. however it does restart when it is jump started or given some kind of auxiliary power.  thanks in advance  :)

What happens after a successful jump-start?

check the charging system and battery ,there's a guide  ;)
also idle control valve
coolant temperature sensor (common fault on 8 valves)
gear select inhibiter switch if auto box
fuel pump relay
check all the engine earth points/strap etc are sound
