Just tried to put seat in another setting for MrsT, no worky :(
Passenger seat moves fine, both bottom and back. But drivers seat has nothing, won't slide back or forwards or recline, none of memory options work. :-\
Almost as if it has no power, blown fuse? :-\
-
Should add it does not recline either, so not usual something stuck in rails.
-
Check one of the plugs hasn't come out under the seat. If they are ok check there is power getting to them.
-
Plugs look fine, as far as I can see. Checked the fuses, all good.
Windows, mirrors etc all work. Just nothing on drivers seat. Rear footwells always kept very clear, so can't see anything trapping or pulling cables. :-\
-
I would pull the plugs out and check for voltage to them, and go from there.
-
Need to invest in a volt meter :(
-
A 12v bulb with wires attached might suffice. ;)
-
F5 and F12
F5 being more likely, as F12 affects the entire world and his dog

Checked all fuses under steering wheel, all fine. F5 was first stop. Looks fine :-\

OK, go buy a meter then :)

Electric seats in the 2.5 never worked when i bought it , sprayed the worm screw thing underneath the seat with penetration spray left it then came back a while later and they both worked :)
-
Fixed. Loom connector was loose, decided to give them all a wiggle and one just fell out. Popped it back in, with a nice healthy click. It's all working again. :)
MrsT pleased as she can take 3.2 tomorrow :)
-
Told ya. :P ;D

Does she hate your 2.2 as much as everyone else? ;D
Glad its sorted. Generally bombproof, so rare for anything other than fuse or loom fault.
-
She likes the autobox, plus not keen on 2.2's hand brake. Too stiff apparently, but it works fine for me. :D
Used 3.2 today, I'm starting to get attached to the gas guzzler ::)
Need to schedule that car work weekend, sort that dead tappet and it might be ready for LPG....... one day ::)

I thought you needed the boot, or was that just a good excuse for a bout of CBA ;D

One day, when the 2.2 is dead ;)

But she doesn't like that car....
(quite understandably ;D)

If 2.2 is dead...
PlanA) I'll take 3.2 on and LPG it. Then buy MrsT a mum bus :)
PlanB) I'll take on a 406HDi, which is available and MrsT keeps 3.2 until we need more seats.

Jeez, how many are you planning on banging out :o

Need to carry on the family name ;D
-
Besides any more than 2 and the Omega won't be practical
-
Three happily sit on the back bench when they are old enough to be out of various car seats etc.... the problem arrives in trying to convince the dog to run along side when your going down the motorway!
Seriously, when we have all of our three here and we want to go out as a family + doggy we use the Alhambra!

Long term thinking one of those, heard good things about latest model. That or the massive Zafira, not the normal one. One with 3 proper seats in back row. Sister in law to be has one, works well for her needs. Suspect in a few years they will be cheap, potential for DIY service too
-
New Alhambra / Sharan looks alright, sliding door is an improvement for accessibility over a conventional door. Alas we are happy with our older model for now.
-
Do you service it yourself?

They've stopped making the 'normal' zafira, only make the tourer now.

Ours is an older 1.9TDi (130PS) model.
In all honesty, while home maintenance is easy enough (Brake reservoir is a bit awkward to get too though), I just get the local independent garage who MOT all the families cars to service it - at an hourly rate of £38 with me supplying the correct VAG specification oil and parts there's no interest from me to get my hands dirty. Other problem I have is that the car port at my parents house that I usually work on my cars under doesn't allow to the height of a people carrier on decent height axle stands! ::) ;D

Did not know that. Means more of them about in the future. :)

If he was banging one out he wouldn't be in this predicament... :-X :-X ;D
