Omega General Help / Boot badge
« on: 19 July 2016, 18:10:07 »
Hey,

I had the car jet washed and the badge on the boot handle fell out lol, looking at the state of the glue it was going to fall off anyway, so im left with a silver surround.

Question is are the P/fl estate and saloon interchangable?

If I were to get a mini fl badge would I need to remove the silver surround?

If the badge is 70mm can I just get an ebay gel dome replacemant?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Ar35 aux cooler
« on: 10 July 2016, 17:29:05 »
Hey guys. I have a  food trailer that will need shifting soon and I'm not sure the ar25 and rad cooler will hack it.

Reason being,  when I had the v70 volvo were selling aux autobox coolers for towing.

So you lot think it will be a good mod for my little XEV?

Omega General Help / Question for wheel gurus
« on: 30 June 2016, 09:13:17 »
Hey guys

I have found a nice set of 18s,  there fitted with 235-40-18 and have an et of 42,

Question is what size spacer would be needed  and would the standard suspension be to high or would it settle down?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Alt whine
« on: 22 June 2016, 14:35:49 »
I recently removed my all bells and whistles alpine h/u,  now I've put in a much cheaper sony mech less and I'm getting a whine when the slushbox kicks down then it stops when the normal driving resumes

Could I put ferrite chokes on the loom to suppress the noise?

I recently bought brake discs and pads from ecp and before that plugs and filters

On each occasion,  they've had to order the parts in

Isle it getting harder to get parts over the counter now?

I remember with my v6 I got a rear brake fitting kit from Vx and that took a few days also

Omega General Help / Low idle on x20xev
« on: 04 May 2016, 18:45:42 »
Hey guys

I have done everything there is to do regarding cleaning the TB, breathers, changed gaskets cleaned iacv and fitted a flame trap

It will idle a about 750rpm then when you engage D it will drop to 500 or so then when you go back to N or P it will stay at 500 then stall if you have the wheel fully locked while reversing

Also if the ac is on the revs drop
I'm at a loss here

Ps the throttle stop has been altered by P/O but the marks are still visible and can be rectified

I bought this a couple of months ago to replace the volvo v70 which was bought to replace a 2.5cdx estate sadly written off

It has a full service history as was owned by  one family since 99 so really only 3 owners and garaged

It is not without its problems though
Sold with a cracked manifold, but 2 studs on cylinder 1 have sheared.
Rust bubbles on the rear arches but only starting to form
Rust spot on the rear drivers door
Tid not working properly
Assured it was serviced but wasn't

Omega General Help / Skirt end cap
« on: 27 April 2016, 18:11:22 »
This is just a general question,  this being my second mig it's the one and only thing that's missing on both cars rear offside.

Is anyone missing the same part and how on earth can a riveted cap go missing

Omega General Help / 2.0 cylinder head
« on: 08 March 2016, 15:51:57 »
Hi guys
I have a small problem

When I bought the car it was sold with a blowing manifold, I thought  a crack which can be cured with a new one but I found  a sheared stud on the mount.

I was going through the history and found that they had drilled and recut a broken stud so as the block is the same as the zlet and presumably the z20leh can the head be used as the astra can have silly power and I've not heard of there studs breaking

Secondly with the cams be the same or just swap them over?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Couple of issues
« on: 23 February 2016, 21:25:59 »
Hey guys

I have a few problems I'd like to sort out

First off it the dash only half lights up and the mid has no power,  it does look like some had a go at it before I bought it but no idea

Then the drivers door won't lock via fob but all other doors and boot do,  I was thinking it was to do with the time not being set on mid, reason being on the mk4 astra it won't deadlock if the clock isn't set for some reason again no idea

It was bought with a blow, I thought oh right just a crack or gasket but as I was poking around in found a sheared stud on the mount,  is it difficult to extract  and replace?

The shift lights have a mind of their own,  if you knock the shifter on the side the lights work like normal,  I take it the pnp switch needs cleaning  or the cable needs adjusting

Cheers

Newbie Welcome Area / hello
« on: 23 February 2016, 06:07:38 »
Just saying hi, I have just bought my second meega a 2.0 gls saloon. I did have a 2.5 estate a couple of years ago but was written off by a blind female driving a polo.  That was replaced by a 2.4 v70 which died after the slush box did a dump on the road

I'm sure I had a user on here before, but registered again
