If i can i will use a similar amp to the one i had in the gold Elite a MRV407-4/6 Alpine, that was a really nice amp that gave a cracking sound

That's what I've got. Bought it on ebay for sub-20 quid, replaced the MOSFETs that the DPO had blown and it's a lovely amp. :y

for the last few months i have been gathering kit together to upgrade my stereo....

I have gone for infinity components speakers in the front and back doors and am no looking round for some decent 6'' single cones to go in the back shelf as well as a nice 'meaty' amp to drive it all.....

didi you remove the key blade from the old key head?

If so i womder if you left the transponder chip in there, the car is not seeing it in the key and so flashing the EML.

The transponder chip will look like a little rectangle of black carbon, about 5mm by 10 mm

Apart from this Alpine   unit  what others are easy to put in?  Anyone put in a double dinn dvd player type or is it waste of time?

Has the sound quality dramaticly improved?

I had a nightmare fitting a parrot kit to a Bose equipped CCR2006  >:(

when we wired it in the amp increased the volume of the telephone kit, the only way we cold get it to work was to run the parrot kit through the Traffic Master wiring, this meant that if you were on the phone you would hear the TM announcements but they would be feint.....

I spoke to audioleads about this and they confirmed that the Bose could cause the increase of volume but confirmed that they did not have a kit that would help, their suggestion was to put an external speaker in  >:(

i can recommend the Harman Kardon kit, it really is about as good as you can get without going to the expense of a dedicated ipod ready head unit.

Ebay will fine them on sale for less than £30 as well. bargain, add a couple of hours for fitting and all is good  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Rear Curtian Blind

I just tried this, but there was so much resistance i could only lift it up a couple o inches all the way across the blind, and i asked my friend to press the button, but still nowt happened. There was a small click coming from there rear near the blind, but no movement. As soon as i let go of the blind it went stright back down again. I tried to spray some PTFE lubricant spray to what looks like the runners but didnt work.   :( :( :(

i had the opposite with one that i bought for my CDX, would go down but only one side would work properly.

Pulled the shelf out of the car, as TB said, 3x10mm headed nuts, pulled the shelf out and then stripped the blind unit off the shelf.
Once it was free from the shelf i then detached the blind from the motor, this allowed me to push the blind up and down, clean the runners with a cotton wool ear bud and then relube it with some silicone lube, works a treat now  :y

whole lot took about 2 hours and created all manner of shouting from the wife when she saw car parts in the living room....  ;D ;D ;D

no is the simple answer....

However someone in the past worked out how to fit a variable stalk to a later car, i believe it involved fitting a resistor but i can't remember 100%

28
in my younger days i spent a lot of time tuning the 2.5XE, it is a really responsive engine when the right mods are done and it does respond well to tuning.

However 191 from a chip alone is a very tall order, i would expect to see 10% from a chip, then add the cams and a good airfilter that has a cold air feed and i would be looking at 200bhp.

Throttle bodies, porting, sports exhausts and a few other little tuning tricks would see another 25/30 bhp but then you are into the realms of spending large amounts of money on internal components that will be able to keep up with the rest of the set up

Will they work with the Facelift models?

if anyone else has a megamos T-AM fob or/and a spare case i would be interested in buying them.

Mine is on its last legs, the rubbers are split and i only have the one
