Fuse 33
« on: 29 October 2020, 17:14:44 »

Can anybody advise that by removing fuse 33 from the fuse panel under the steering column stop the main cabin fan from working ?

My fan has developed fault by constantly running even with ignition off and key removed.

I need to use car tonight and dont want it parked up with fan running and kill battery and by just disconnecting battery earth means I need to leave bonnet un catched  as were  I need to go isnt great leaving things unlocked

Try it. Ultimately you neen a new hedgehog and an unblocked scuttle drain.

This failure mode is typical of water shorting out the hedgehog.

Presumably turning the panel off doesn't do anything :-\

Scuttle clear no water in n/s footwell .

Panel lights and goes off but fan continues ,
Accept hedgehog needs changing which is on order due tomorrow at somepoint but could do without pulling earth of battery to stop it so assumed F33 controlled it

Water only gets to the footwell when it's properly overflowing, having first filled the fan cavity...

Any hoo, pull the fuse and see what happens, that fuse is only for the interior fan, so should work.

If it doesn't, then you'll have to unplug it at the hedgehog  ;)

All good fuse 33 kills fan so all good until next hedgehog arrives and we get a dry day to take it apart and replace
