Parrot MKi9200 issue...
« on: 03 February 2014, 22:29:15 »

Fitted to the Insignia, all plug and play as hoped, but...

Getting alot of electrical interference when using it. Radio mutes as expected, but getting a whistling noise which varies with revs. What is the best solution for dealing with it?

Have seen mention of using a capacitor of some description at/near the battery. Electrickery not a strong point though :-\

You have alternator whine.

The problem will most likely be the grounding of the parrot. Try to move the ground (negative) wire to the parrot as close as possible to the radio's or use an isolating transformer on the audio signal.

It's connected to the radio ground  at the original car plug on the radio loom :-\

I'd have thought that ought to be wired somewhere sensible... :-\

That's to say I purchased an SOT lead to connect between the Car Loom and the Radio. The after market lead contains a spur for pos and neg,(and audio), which runs to the Parrot box, the audio then returns to the plug into the radio :-\
