General Car Chat / LPG vertical toroidal tank
« on: 09 May 2016, 15:41:44 »
Seen a vertical tank advertised locally to me but wondered if this was mounted on the right or left of the estate load compartment if it would cause handling/ride height problems.
Thanks John.

General Car Chat / Thanks Lee
« on: 09 May 2016, 12:58:59 »
Made a trip to see Lee (gtstylebaby) and picked up a pre-facelift irmscher bodykit for the Tourer.
Had a good chat about all things omega and can thoroughly recommend him if you are in the market for some bits as he literally has a shed full.

Cheers John.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / one for Dnd
« on: 07 April 2016, 19:39:28 »
when i got my Tourer it was still fitted with the original car400 but it was code locked.I had an single slot cd/radio out of a Hyundai so I fitted that and as expected because the display is part of the radio the relevant part of the mfd goes blank when switched on.however the other day i could have sworn the mfd displayed bbc r2 when i started the car (ign logic on) briefly then went blank.I put it down to my imagination but it's done it several times since and on the last occasion it displayed for over 5 seconds.
Didn't think this was possible especially as the top row of connectors on the iso socket is different to the car400 and not connected.

General Discussion Area / Makes my blood boil
« on: 30 January 2016, 10:45:17 »
Can't post a reply in the "V6 gearbox wanted" thread so will do it here. It's the guys money and car so he can do what he wants with it.He didn't ask for the smartarse comments from the members who seem to think because they post a lot they have Carte Blanche to bore me and others with their opinions.
Rant over  :-*

General Discussion Area / worlds fail me
« on: 17 January 2016, 13:02:09 »
Was coming off the local motorway which is 2 lane slip onto a roundabout.was in the nearside lane entering the roundabout to go left when some smartarse came howling done the slip on the rh lane (to beat the queue waiting to turn left) then cuts in front of me and behind a car turning right narrowly missing us both.
I was behind him for a bit whilst he ignored all speed limits and generally drove like a knob and as I got closer I could see a baby seat in the back.
He then pulled over to park so I pulled up beside him and proceeded to point out the errors in his driving (during which admittedly i might have sworn) and this bit is priceless his wife who was in the passenger seat piped up with "do you mind not swearing I've got a baby in the car"
Well I said try slowing down and you might not kill him to which the guy said he's not the one who's going to get killed at which point I thought no point arguing with selfish idiots like this and scarpered. :D

General Car Chat / Well looked after?
« on: 13 January 2016, 15:30:58 »
been looking to add an estate to the omega collection and whilst browsing saw an ad which contained this pic.

and whilst I appreciate you can't rely on a pic too heavily I'm impressed to see both strut nut covers, all 4 plenum bolt plugs, all 3 pieces of the top rad cover, battery bag and spongey thing on the iac valve are all still present on a '98 car.

General Discussion Area / gits on mopeds
« on: 07 December 2015, 18:33:30 »
was out and about this afternoon and saw 3 yes 3 helmet-less yoofs razzing up and down a main road in school time and broad daylight on a moped.the kid in the middle only looked about 10.don't know if it's a national police policy but in these parts because they weren't wearing helmets they don't pursue them in case they fall off and hurt their precious heads. >:(
this was less than a mile away from where a local pc was run over and killed a few months back.frankly if i saw gits like these on the road i'd be temtped to give them a nudge with my front bumper into the nearest tree but i guess it would end up with me in court for dangerous driving while they would get away with a ticking off. :o
