just went and got my HBV along with 6l of the red stuff and a plastic door bushing with TC it was £39! good old Baylis!

is there any thing special i need to note or is it straight forward as this remove scuttle etc mark hoses and replace

door strap the bit that goes in the door has fell off i think!

door closes and wont hold open! very heavy doors!!!

Omega General Help / HBV Packed up i think

My mv6 is playing up abit its running hotter and is loosing water only a bit but if i thrash it steam comes from the drivers side rear end of the engine i think the HBV has gone and am going to replace it

the cars done 117k

ive changed the crank sensor so know how to remove the scuttle is there anything else i should change while its all off?

its still on its original DIS pack so im thinking this must be on the way out!

my mv6s brakes have gone crap within the last 2 weeks it all started when Mrs TMX's brother drove my mig and told me the GID said

"Brakes OverHeated Take Care" which i know is total nonsense as i have owned a fair few vauxhalls with Info displays and have never seen this message!

anyway i was driving at 70 and put the brakes on and heard a strange sort of droning noise its been doing this since i bought it in jan

today i brake to go down a hill quite sharp as some idiot had parked on a hill on a main road and nothing happens the pedal went a fair bit lower and i couldt feel the brakes much had to use the gears and the handbrake to stop !!!

and every time i drive along now and again i hear a high pitched squeeling noise even when not braking it sounds like its from the rear passenger side i have had the back pas side tyre off looked at the pads there is a fair bit of meat left in them and theres heavy scoring on the disc but i noticed the inner piston is stiffer than the outer

oh yeah and its down on power and the fuel economy is 21mpg!

advice would be greatly appreciated

the fan speed bulb has packed up on my mv6 and is driving me mad! i have tried following TB's centre consol removal guide and have found that the metal releasing bar is broken its not held in on the drivers side

any ideas on how to remove the centre consol would be greatly appreciated

where i work we share our building with the local police and i was talking to one of the Traffic cops

i was in the omega and he was talking to me about it i said it was an MV6 and he said very nice car that the 3litre lump is a choclate engine though i asked him why and he said that when they used to have them on the force they were very easy to blow up

he said in a motorway persuit they would overheat and stuff and they dont like being raced around town much

he said i should save my pennies and get a 3.2 as its a much better engine!

but i have never heard of a v6 vauxhall engine blowing up apart from tbelt failiures i always thought they were a good solid lump!

Omega General Help / V6 Motronic 2.8.1 Code 19

i have just bought a snap on diagnostics machine OBD 2 from the car auctions at a bargain price of £25!!! comes with loads of upg packs

anyway plugged it into the mv6 with the motor running like it said and im getting Code 19 Incorrect RPM Signal the car isnt pulling like a train anymore and i replaced the cranksensor in january

what i would like to know is what is code 19? what sensor is it for?

well my egr valve is cracked i dont want to blank it off as the engine wont run properly with it blanked off runs the engine runs abit Lean

is the 3.0s egr valve the same as a 2.5 vectra / 2.5 mig? as the local scrappies dont have any 3.0 v6s

Omega General Help / MV6 strange misfire or injection system

My mv6 is running abit unwell sometimes if i boot it the car gets upto 4krpm and jumps and the revs die off and sometimes it iddles like its missfirng!! any ideas fuel filter etc???

just ordered some spark plugs and coolant / antifreeze to service the mig with

i have changed the plugs on my v6 veccy before but not on the 3 litre is it easier? than the vectra v6 and do i need to pay attention to anything important?

i have read the howto on the coolant change and it seems to be quite easy well alot easier than my last two cars because it has a special drain plug

installed a new crankshaft sensor! and now all is well got my trade club card aswell!!

bought oil filter screen wash and oil all for £13!!!

hey i got an mv6 it has been giving me a bit of trouble the crankshaft sensor has packed up confirmed with paperclip 1 long flash then 9 quick ones! will my X25XE Vectras sensor fit on my X30XE MV6 engine i was told by my vx specialist mechanic m8 that theres a 50 50 chance!
