Had a look at one of our old members mig as it needs new pads on the back, for a start the 2 pins look different as there is no " nobbly end " where they sit in the recess on the back of the caliper, could they have just rotted away ?
The pins that are in are well mullered and wouldn't shift with the tools I had at the time so I have bought a new center punch to have a go at them over the weekend. Is there just one type of pin across the range? I have a spare set of rear calipers with decent pins should it come to that.

There are pins for solid disc calipers & longer pins for vented disc calipers :y

solid for a 3.0 :y :y
it's the later 2.6 & 3.2 that are vented ;)

:y Cheers Andy, not had a mig for a while so was a bit hazy.

Would think that other than length for solid/vented calipers then pins would be same.

I bought some recently for solid. one local motor factors quoted me £11 just for the pins, but another £ 7. 20p with the pad retaining clips.

Use large suitably sized split pins - cheaper, available and secure - used to use them when racing.

For solid discs, but those genuine GM rear pads from egay seller near Silverstone. £10 delivered, and being OE (not TC), come with (solid disc only) pins and springs.

Cheap enough, to buy for vented, and throw pins away. :y
