Well, the programme gave out no surprises to us who drive regularly, and those officers certainly within Kent Police who have spoken about their "challenges" ;)
To sum up, far more officers, more speed cameras, harsher penalties for drink drivers, investment in the roads with Smart Motorways done away with, and far more regular police checks on motorists. ;)

My head was in the clouds when I took the dog out on Christmas morning. Roads very quiet and I was making 'good progress' when I realised I'd gone through the same speed camera I go through most mornings, only this time at 45mph, in a 30. That'll be a nice Christmas present, I thought, but nothing.
So that's one that's not working.

I would say we do in urban areas, not motorways, if speeding, that is greatly exceeding the limit, is to be curtailed through 30 / 40 mph zones.  It is better for all of us in the long run.  I have over the last year noticed so many drivers locally driving like idiots, so they must be persuaded not to do so via the camera if necessary. ;)

Not outside hospitals, children's nurseries, shops, centres of social events.................................etc, etc?  That is the thing, in urban areas the list is endless and no authority can afford to put speed cameras everywhere, or maintain them as made clear in that programme.  So let them place cameras around hot spots, known to the locals, to just try and slow traffic down in those zones, when the finance is there.  ;)
