Title: 2001 X Reg 3.0 Elite Auto Saloon for sale
Post by: Banjax on 25 July 2009, 14:55:27
Yes, sadly I'm selling the mig - looking for a diesel estate one to replace it with - so I'm open to swaps  :y

The car has done just under 93000miles (92606 as i write this)
MOT'd until 22 June 2010 (passed easily)
TAX'd until 31 January 2010

all the usual elite spec - everything works fine EXCEPT!!!!

1) drivers heated seat - used it once and it damn near burns your back - so never touched it again!
2) Rear sun blind doesn't lift - never bothered me - so it was never sorted - the switch does make an electronic "click" - so maybe someone handier with a screwdriver can free it
3) the bonnet release lever handle got kicked off (by my size 12's getting in) put it back on 3 times and kicked it off 3 times almost immediately - so i use a pair of pliers to "ahem" pull the wire as it were - still have the handle
i think thats all - i'm making it sound like a binner - trust me its not - i love this car - cream leather, aircon, fantastic Bose sound system, satnav (needs cd), electric everything you know the score

offering to OOFers first before it goes on general release to the tyre-kickers  ;) ;)

pearlescent "persia" colour - looks lovely when washed

Believe it or not your selling in the wrong place. Try the Autotrader, I had my estate on here never got a single offer but stuck it in the trader and the phone never stopped, sold to the first person who came to see it ;)

People go mad for Diesels, looking at BMW 5's i saw a 535i for same age and miles, was 3k cheaper than the 530d!

How about what I did, buy a second car that's cheaper to run & you're not bothered about using & abusing on your commute to work. My Omega is worth sod all in £ notes, but it's worth more to me as a big comfortable tow car for the caravan and any long haul trips I do. I know it's two lots of MOT, insurance & road tax, but I reckon it's still works out cheaper to run the 2nd car than run the Omega every day and I have the best of both worlds.  :y

PS nice car!  :y

That's exactly what I've done........got an old 1.2 Corsa to use around town etc, Mig just gets used some weekends and when we tow the van.

Can use TC card for Corsa parts as well(another reason for getting another Vx motor) :y

there's a bunch of reasons why i shouldnt buy it and a bunch of reasons why i should!!

pros: I really want it, i miss my old one, its exactly the spec i want (same as my blue one!) its a very good price

cons: i've only had the bora 3 months, its much MUCH cheaper to run, its in unreal condition for its 10 years, i've not long since bought a house and should be watching the cash, even though i bought a ps3 and a new mountain bike, and also, i told swmbo she couldnt have a cat!!

 ;D

In the US, all the "golf saloons" right through 1974-2009 were badged as Jetta, no ventos and no boras, just as the golfs were known as a rabbit, so wanting to be a tad different i decided to get a Jetta badge from the states to replace the Bora badge, your equivalent would be a Caddy Catera :D

advertising locally at £1500 - but no sensible offer refused as they say  :y

Hi all,

I have been looking for an Omega for a while but struggling to find one locally, off to see this car tomorrow having seen it on Autotrader.

Bannjaxx let slip about this forum, and having seen the exact car I was looking at, I just had to add a comment.

£1250?? Shot yourself in the foot there mate!!! ;D

Anyway, everything sorted for tomorrow morning, still be around 9'ish but will give you an update en-route.

Hi Dave,

Car drove faultlessly to Aberdeen, very pleased.  Arrived back in Orkney now and I think I may have got myself a bit of a bargain.  :)

Good luck with your Laguna (book of electrical fault codes on the way for christmas) and good luck with your new venture.  It was very nice to meet you. :y
