It's more to do with the misuse of the words. Infamous and notorious are pretty much interchangeable. Infamous and famous are not.

Reknowned or significant could have been alternatives. Or devastating if you're a bit more German.

Turns out it wasnt just the One show. BBC Breakfast presenter used exactly the same phrase earlier in the day.
Anti British groupthink infests the national broadcaster. What a surprise.  ::)

Not uncommon back in the day.

According to my grandparents about 70% of people who owned a black cat or dog would call it either nigger or blackie.

There was even paint colour called nigger brown which could be bought from any hardware shop.

Suella has told them they need to fill their time with  serious crime investigation. She even specifically mentioned this case.

I mean, Braverman is the home secretary ffs yet the 'powers that be' within the police simply ignore her. :-\

This seems to be the case with the public sector at large to be honest. There have been several ministers who have complained at the inertia of civil servants and officials, and a resistance to change.  :-\
