One thing I know is the silver car had the last (or last but one) genuine GM screen from Germany and it was a perfect fit, seem to recall that they sent two fitters out and they were old boys who'd done plenty of Omega's back in the day. Black car still has it's original screen so should be a good comparison. All the other Omega's i've owned had none genuine replacements (I think Pilkington make them as a special order when Autoglass etc require) over the years but they seemed to struggle fitting them and there were defects in the glass that meant distortions on the edges.

My replacement wasnt fitted quite right and the outer trim has never fitted properly since.  :'(
I took it off as it kept coming loose and it lies behind the shed. 
I assume its just a cosmetic item and doesnt serve an important purpose ?

£100 for a non genuine one on ebay
the seller ended one listing (lower trim inner )and  re-listed it ,after he increased the price when i enquired with part numbers 
so I guess they are rare now

Ok, there should be a vertical cap between the sides of the goalpost moulding and the glass... this is built into the frame to allow rainwater to flow up and off the screen at speed as the wipers clear it.

But yes, the frames and mouldings are all attached to the new screen prior to fitting. This allows the moulding to set the location and depth of the screen.

Dave, you screen looks to be set wrong in both position and depth... almost looks like they went to fit the trims afterwards and pulled the screen out of the aperture trying to get the trims to fit, obviously failing miserably.

If you can get the new frames and mouldings from VX then I would suggest that, otherwise get Autonoglass etc to supply it, watch them like a hawk and refuse to accept it if it doesn't look right, don't fit everything in the correct order or only send one person.

The Omega requires two people to fit the screen correctly (from Autonoglass following their second call back).

Does anyone know a part number or source for the twist pins that secure the scuttle   

or do I just google "hen's teeth from the saddle bag of a unicorn "

I guess they are rare too 

I only have 2 black ones (which i assume are original) and 2 grey (which don't look original)

Therein lies the cause of the problem. They popped it in after the screen was fitted. Eejits.
