Post by: ChrisPee on 02 May 2018, 14:39:55
I was just wondeting if any members have purchased either of these from Ebay tgat actually fitted? I bought one amd it was pretty poor. I need a set for an early manual. Also, could amyone tell me if the pattern of the leather seats is the same from early elite to late please?
Thank you. Chris.

They need a little trimming with a razor blade, and then gluing into place. Mine took less than an hour to fit both. Some of that included making coffee. I suspect that they supply the same gear lever gaiter for both transmissions.
It's one of the easier jobs I've done on the car.

Can you remember the seller Nick? The one I bought was like trying to fit a babygrow on giant haystacks. A bit of trimming and glueing is fine by me. The one I had wasn't even close.

I bought THESE (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-STITCH-FITS-VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-B-GEAR-COVER-GAITER-LEATHER-/391198529741?hash=item5b153fd8cd)

Which look like this:

The tops are secured with a cable tie which looks shit, so I quickly replaced them with lockwire that isn't visible. some thin cord would do just as well.
A nice easy job that smartens up an obvious scruffy area.
