Parrot phone kits
« on: 10 March 2009, 20:05:34 »

I was going to get a Nokia kit but these have also been recommended. Has anybody had one installed on the Omega? If so, what do they think of it?

Cheers, Paul

(I somehow managed to post this in the photo gallery first time around!!!!!!)

I had the monochrome (3100 iirc) at first (see below) but it was an older one and needed the firmware upgraded to work with 'newer' phones, couldn't be arsed to send it off so bought the colour version (see below below) and it does exactly what it says on the tin, sound is good my end and others hear me clearly.

Only thing is i use it with an aftermarket head unit, will be bit 'trickier' to fit to standard head unit.

That and the fact theres bugger all space to squeeze all the wires and boxes in!!  ;D

If you need any more info just yell  :)

I have just bought a 53 plate cdx with installed but can't comment as I need the radio code which is getting sorted tommorrow so I will let you know after that how it is in the omega.
However I have just sold a merc c220cdi with one in and have one in my alfa 156 sportwagon and my cosworth all work perfectly with various headunits, merc was standard, alfa is factory upgrade blaupunkt satnav and cossie is sony.

At the end of the day I think its fair to say I would reccomend them.

Parrot colour kits as you have shown are not at all bad, but lack the reliability and build quality when compared with the Nokia kits. not to say there are problems, just that the Nokia ones are better.

Integrating with a standard head unit shouldn`t be an issue either, plenty of us on the forum to help you.

 :y

Whatever you do though - AVOID THE PARROT HEAD UNITS !!!!!

Bloody Awfull

Got a Parrot ck3000 in mine, does the job.
Provided you've got the phone pre wiring up above the glove box you just need an autoleads adapter cable and maybe an isolating transformer installed behind the fuse box.
Mic can br fitted in the courtesy light, plugh it all in and the job should be a goodun.
Facelift can be a different story though depending on what wiring is present.

Well, got myself a Parrot 3200 kit, comes with a nice compact colour screen. Got voice recognition, mutes the stereo. Seems a nice piece of kit.
